  1. It's really amazing me how often these packages are shipping, too! Most subscriptions drag out for months and months... I fucking love me some Monster Movie, too.
  2. I would only get the Hallelujah if the Buckley version is from Sin-e. Are these just studio tracks from their most common releases (ie: Buckley from Grace.) If so, they are really milking the overuse of this song in film and tv in the past 5-10 years.
  3. No, there is no checkout. You give them everything that they need to place the order (credit card info and address), so just make sure that you have your list as you would your order sooner than later because when they start filling orders they'll charge you. Everything will read as "requested" until this happens as they can't assure you that you'll get your items until they receive their stock and start allotting LPs. And I do agree with oojavaguru that it is a crapshoot, but at least they'll tell you what you're definitely not getting before you can pick these up in a brick and mortar store.
  4. You're right... my bad. So I guess I was notified the day before.
  5. I'm not sure what makes you so certain, but I'm hoping that you are right... in that I am ordering from there.
  6. I ordered from them for RSD 2012 and they called me on Friday to tell me what I wasn't getting (four days prior to the RSD Tuesday) and I received the package a couple days after RSD. So while I did have to wait a couple of days to get the bulk of my RSD stuff I was able to go to a local store and grab what I wasn't getting that I wanted and since I wasn't picking up my own needs in person I was able to buy for friends who needed something. They get your credit card info up front but didn't charge until they shipped (I think it was Saturday, but I'm not positive at this point.) The only downside was no itemized receipt, but I called them to find out what shipping was. I think it was like 20 bucks for a pretty hefty case... the Typo O box set was prob 3-5 pounds alone. Goddamn... I just did the math and what I want right now is 475 bucks... I'm a fucking sucker.
  7. I've got 24 items on my request list right now. I'm sure I'll whittle that down and they will definitely be adding stuff. Some of that Miles and Incubus are gonna have to come off of my list.
  8. Yes. http://koolarrow.com/city-of-quartz/ has some 46 second sound samples. I just bought it knowing that I may not love it, but that it will probably be interesting. Now that I'm checking it out I'm glad I did... sounds very cool. I would buy anything with Timba Harris' involvement, though... Estradasphere is my favorite band.
  9. http://koolarrow.com/house-of-hayduk-city-of-quartz/ RELEASE DATE: NOV 23, 2012 Created and produced by Mads Heldtberg Mixed by Jim Monti Mastered by Lupo (Dubplates and Mastering) House of Hayduk is the brainchild of the Danish/American composer, producer and musician Mads Heldtberg; the idea rooted in the belief that there is a common musical thread shared by both musicians and music fans, that transcends genre, age and aesthetic. In this spirit, the foundation of the album focuses on 3 generations of players –Bill Gould (FAITH NO MORE), Charles Hayward (THIS HEAT) and Mads Heldtberg (DÜREFÖRSÖG) meeting up and recording in a studio in New York; from there comes deconstructing, reassembling and adding of additional musicians to create four entirely new linear pieces of music. Drums radiate a sense of power, doom and darkness that is both profoundly human; and as chaotic and unforgiving as a force of nature. Hard driving, monolithic bass that begs to be experienced on a massive sound system. Shards of surgical guitar slice through thick vapor, accompanied by a symphony of exotic percussion. Filtered through a dub-like, hypnotic lens, “City of Quartz” is a a musical indulgence, refined with obsessive detail; this album wasn’t written–it was designed with intent. THIS ALBUM IS A LIMITED EDITION OF ONLY 500 NUMBERED COPIES…there are no plans to make this available on cd or through iTunes. and features a series of fantastic players, including: BJ Miller (HEALTH), Peter Peter (SODS), Dean Hurley (David Lynch), Timba Harris (Estradasphere), & Anders Trentemøller
  10. If I didn't already have the OG I'd be all over this (still thinking about it, too.) http://mammothcaverecording.com/releases/savvy-show-stoppers May or may not be a pre-order.
  11. BTW, per http://www.strictlydiscs.com/page/about/us/intheknow?id=195 the Incubus releases are: Crow Left Light Grenades Make Yourself SCIENCE (thank fucking God) and Morning View I recommend ordering here. Last year I placed an order of 20+ items and was only unable to get one or two things (Sufjan Stevens & Po and Fathers) And I got a lot of high demand low press items (Phish Pollack edition, Eddie Vedder)
  12. I figured I'd snag one. Merge is in Chapel Hill about an hour from me, so this should arrive in a day after it's shipped... which is nice!
  13. What about the Stones Throw Direct to Disc live series? I think those were done in this manner.
  14. And which store would that be? I bought through Strictly Discs last year and was able to get almost everything I wanted (set me back like 300 bucks, but that's what I ordered.)
  15. So the page that i did have open for Freak Puke is gone now... something brewing?
  16. What makes you think SCIENCE is out of the picture?! That's still my fave Incubus album and to be honest if that was only one available that'd fine with me (wd like the two before that and even Time lapse Consortium on wax, though)
