It was fate or something. Had to buy it!

thanks for sharing, jeffo. all the above can appreciate a good article on the quality of vinyl, i'm sure they weren't trying to be mean. but one point missed in the blog: now that vinyl is proving the be the preferred medium for kids and middle-aged yipsters, record co's are charging twice as much as they did before! Remember when CD's came out and were supposed to make music cheaper? then they just charged the same amount plus a little more for the "bonus track"? Now, i go to record stores and browse the new vinyl selection- $29 for a 180g Bob Dylan album? are you f'n kiddin me? They got the same album for $2 in the used section! You are being used!

don't get sucked into the tired old FLAC vs mp3 debate here. it's a vinyl rip. i can't play FLAC on my walkman.

If you're using GarageBand and your mp3 tracks are too quiet/loud after importing them, you can adjust the volume level on the track in GB before exporting it. I've done over 100 vinyl rips on GB and now that i have a set method for basically remastering the tracks, i'll take the pepsi challenge with any ol' 320mbs mp3 or cd!

and you probly need to buy all 13 to make the collection worth while - so $260 for em all? and they're 12" singles? i think i'd rather buy some really good dope: it won't take up any space once you use it.

New album, (sorta) new drummer, new sound.... It'll take the whole album for me to say whether i like it or not. It seems like the better Mars Volta albums need that context or creative back-story to go along with it.

allow me to rant here: Weathermaker needs to get their sh!t together because this is f'n bullsh!t. If you start talk of a pre-order in October for a December release, then you should honor that date. If you got more pre-orders than albums pressed, then fine; release the ones you have enough for at that orginal date and then do another pressing. If the amount of pre-orders made for Blast Tyrant caught the band/label completely by surprise, then they aren't paying attention to their fans very well. (insert rant from any first-album fan). If the whole pre-order excercise was just to see how many needed to be made, then that's just wrong. Don't say you have them ready when you don't. I know a lot of people here thought this would be arriving in time for xmas gifts. Oh well. ok - rant over. back to supporting the band i've liked for nearly 20 years again.

A Melvins "pressing that's large enough to get around and be affordable" hasn't happened in a while. This is good news indeed.

merely a warning for the kids who might be expecting pepper on their plates. i'm full of animosity. i picked up the 'Your Tomorrow' 7" at their show this past year. it sounded pretty good> we'll have to see how john custer treated the rest of the production. can't wait for this to deliver.

Got this in the mail last week. Played it. Sounds grrreAT! David Yow is one the best punk rock front men in history and this set is the greatest hits collection. Glad i got to see the tour and glad i got the PO for color discs... "What's the difference between Micheal Jackson and Farrah Fawcett?"

I bought this on BlkFriday. With that price, i figure i'm single-handedly stimulating the economy: "Support your corporate megastore day!" So what> i shop local all year. What's one day? I know it was expensive, but i bought it anyway for my family to have for xmas this year. Great album! Love the trans.green color! And it does sound good. Only slight problem: it didn't include the download card inside. I can rip it myself, no big deal, just a timesaver. I contacted the distributor but haven't heard back from them yet... not cool. I bought She&Him Christmas there too> now that was some impulse shopping!

Got Meantime in the mail yesterday. My color was blue. Looks awesome! But then the insert is just black and white. hmmm. Playing it last night really brought me back. I think the color is better than what I got for StrapItOn (yellow/eggshell)
