  1. AWESOME! ohboyohboyohboy! already bought my Hopscotch pass (white octave reunion was the only reason) and i've been waiting nearly 14 years for Style 6312 to come out on vinyl! now the wait is nearly over! i think i'll go play all my White Octave records and tracks now> loudly! Did Pedersen quit his day job again?
  2. IV, Houses and PG are my favorite LZ albums. i'll wait happily. So did the LZ III cover package come with the spinning wheel? i used to love spinning it while playing the record.
  3. listened a few times. i agree with all the reviews i've read on it. not sure if i will buy it - maybe on sale. still looking fwd to seeing them at hopscotch in september... i will say- for all the technical studio gimmicks they pull, they really sound good live.
  4. maybe because they realize that old and obscure records actually have a value higher than some one-off pop band that had a limited pre-order sell out in 15 minutes but will be unheard of again in 12 months? Great blog btw: http://www.dustandgrooves.com/
  5. i took a grocery bag, cut it to the shape of a slipmat, put it on my felt one. works great.
  6. oh boy! a thread war between OG-Mastodon and Nu-Mastodon! who will win? (Hint: It's Mastodon)
  7. Hey uniquemelOdy- You were at Lunchbox Records too! Ahead of me in line cuz you scored a tshirt (congrats!). That was a miserable rain i stood in for 2.5hrs! Probably #140 in line too. I'm an idiot for records i guess... Crosses EP 1,2 & 3 Breadwinner - Burner JSBX - She's On It 12" Sun Records curated LP Prong 7" The Cure/Dinosaur Jr. - Just Like Heaven Poison Idea/Pantera - The Badge today from BullMoose: Clutch/.Lionize 7", Muppet Movie OST everything but the Ghostbusters 7"
  8. Cool. Just saw that HA and YW are gonna be playing together in Raleigh in May. I'll hold out and hope they still have some of these splits on tour. That color looks nice!
  9. Nice! You should be able to fetch a decent price for this. I'm not seeing this version anywhere yet. What condition is the record in?
  10. forgive the sarcasm above, zebrat... but it's kind of hard to give advice without a description or catalog #. The "Original Cast Soundtrack" on Buena Vista Records (BV 4026) in mono is pretty common. The stereophonic version (different cover) is a little more rare. The Disneyland Records "Mary Poppins" (ST 3922), with storybook, isn't the original cast (while Marni Nixon could sing, she was never as cute as Julie Andrews) is probably the next-to-top value. There's a picture disc which if it's anything like the other pic discs in the Disney series, they didn't hold up well to time and the sound quality is awful. Not worth much, unless its just for the visual. And there's a "10 Songs from Mary Poppins" which is a down-sized version of ST 3922, but re-packaged as DQ -1256. Not as high value as the others. Find out which one you've got. Check out a Goldmine Record Album Price Guide at your local library which will list "going" prices for Still-Sealed records. Or go to buyvinyls.com to see what it's going for on ebay today. Hope this helps. Now let the kids resume their game.
  11. Riddle me this: When is a "hidden track" not a hidden track? A: when it's listed on the back cover as "hidden track"? but the bonus tracks are cool!
  12. 'Settle Down City' is still my favorite. I'll give this new one a chance first to see if i buy it or skip it like i did the last album.
  13. Change of subject: I ordered the Melvins Split series (#10) w/ Fantomas (A: You've Never Been Right/ B: Sketchbook...) a few months ago when they sold some extras. Am-Rep accidently shipped me two. I did the honest thing and told Tom that I got two, so I paid him for the extra copy. Anybody want to buy or trade?
  14. had to dig deep here- lots of this was bought afterwards because 1990 was a rEally tough year to buy new records on vinyl. but just you wait, the list of albums you just had to buy twice won't be as long when you're comin up on 25 years. Pantera: cowboys from hell Pixies - bossanova Public Enemy - Fear of a black planet Lenny Kravitz - Let Love Rule (OG) Naked Raygun - Raygun... Fugazi - Repeater (OG) Janes Addiction - Ritual de lo Habitual Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss Social Distortion - S/T Depeche Mode - Violator (OG) Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Kill Your Television Prong - Beg To Differ
  15. wait for the tour. they always have great tour pressings.
  16. i had to log in just say: Fuck Yeah! thanks for the tip Whip! since Ween broke up, this is the best news ever since!
  17. Good price for a reissue. I'll buy "Seasons" again for that.
  18. to answer this question, i'll have to ask myself circa 1980: "Why are you calling it "vinyl"? Well, anyway, I always buy records because if I only bought the cassette, I could only listen to it on tape! so i'll just buy the record and tape it! Now i can listen to it on my walkman and my record player! I'm sure any other format in the future will always be cheap and easy to fabricate from a record. Hey, wait! Are The Police still around?"
  19. yeah - thanks for finding this> but doen't that still come up to about $40 in yankee money (plus shipping o/seas)?
  20. I just saw this yesterday and wondered how it got by us here at the all-knowing VC? I know this isn't the ideal place for old-man rock, but i thought someone out here besides me would want to know. http://www.musiconvinyl.com/releases/Prong/Cleansing Red vinyl (500) is already sold out http://www.musicrecordshop.com/Prong-Cleansing-Vinyl-Record-Import/dp/B00CXDC3L6 I'm tryin to find out if there's any plans to Beg To Differ a deluxe reissue treatment... that'd be nice!
  21. can't wait to see em on the 4th! good thing i get paid that weekend...
