  1. Kinda mystified by the prior comments about pricing, as I looked through the whole batch and most of it seems really fair if not cheap when you consider that he’s got free shipping.

Honestly, you’d pay the same price for year-equivalent US pressings, so the added bonus of (generally) higher quality Japanese versions makes these a good deal, but to each their own.  Picked up The Execute 7”, finally.

With how insane international shipping has become, I’m happy that ppl are taking advantage of the $/¥ disparity and making big-haul trips. I just wish he’d have snagged more 7”s.

  2. Not sure if anyone else will be hyped for this, but there’s a PO up for a 3LP of the “wipE’Out” OST. Lapsus (who did the recent Swayzak reissue) are putting it out so it should be pressed in decent numbers, but there’s a limited version on the bandcamp site for those so inclined.

This is one of those “if you know, you know” releases. Insta-buy for some, easy-pass for others.

  3. Per a comment on the Discogs entry for the tour press they’re already out of them. Hopefully they can at least get some of the indie-orange copies for subsequent dates, if nothing else.

Considering the lore about this being unavailable for so long bc the OG label wanted an insane sum for the masters, I hope they pressed decent numbers to get their money’s worth. If it’s a big enough part of your catalog to tour on & if your fans skew toward weird vinyl obsessives, you’d think that would see a bigger run than some other albums.

  4. Surprised that none of the victory pallets seem to have had TP’s for Grade - Headfirst.. which is likely the only thing I’d consider buying. I know from Popsike that the tests for that one were still blank pic discs & so probably still sound like ass, but I still hope to score one someday.

    That new artwork is wack

While the art isn’t for me, I also can’t imagine slotting this next to the rest of my Converge LP’s given Bannon’s art adorns every other sleeve. Just seems wildly out-of-place to me.

It is interesting to consider how big Derek Hess’ art was ‘back in the day’ (and how often it was ripped off). It fell out of fashion, I guess, but I think the AN & Hellchild splits make cool neighbors in a ‘splits’ section.

  6. This one of those real ‘peek behind the curtain’ threads, and I’m here for it.

I think phillybhatesme is on the right track: organize by genre if it makes sense with your storage, but feel empowered to invent your own umbrella-categories based on how you listen.

Folks above are discussing whether to lump punk & metal together, but maybe you think it’s insane to have a ‘jazz’ section because “how could you even put hard bop next to fire music?!?” or whatever. Just find an arrangement that’s true to what you love about the music.

I don't know if it counts but I just got in a copy of Bwana - The Capsule's Pride, which is a remix of the Akira soundtrack. been looking for a copy for years but the copies that come up on Discogs are more than I want to spend. I had put a chrome monitor extension on the label's bandcamp page a year or so ago, a few weeks ago my computer woke me up at 1am beeping and they put up a single copy. Pretty happy with a retail score even if the shipping from the UK was the same as the LP.

Damn, that’s a score! (Pun intended, I guess?) Seriously both happy for you and also jealous as hell.
