PO: The National "trouble will find me"
sideny replied to LIGMA_BALLZ's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I can see how people think they're boring, it's how i kind of felt at first. It's hard to explain, but I think once I learned the lyrics and subtleties I really grew to appreciate the passive aggressive tension in their music. It's like a calculated restraint that they build, and Matt went from the thing I was unsure about to my favorite part of the band. Maybe they're just not for everyone, I mean I don't get a lot of things people get hyped about on here either. To each his own -

I wasn't into it for a long time after a friend showed me them, but it just clicked one listen. Boxer was what really got me hooked, I remember Apartment Story coming on and it just went from there. Now it's become one of my least favorite songs on the album. -

working festivals is pretty fun, worked outsidelands last year, but i've never worked something like sxsw. it's very, very draining but if you think the free passes are worth it then do it, you might have to work during a show you want to see though.

it's 50/50 in my book. i just can't quite figure it out well you should see it before you buy the soundtrack no? it's a lot of ambient tracks, y'know movie score type stuff

their ratings have been pretty low through the whole run which baffles me, but there's a loyal fanbase. and as far as i know there hasn't been any news of a season 6. i've felt this season has been heading towards wrapping it up, without giving away any spoilers, but maybe that's just me. i think the writers sort of intentionally do this because they're usually renewed after the seasons are over, unlike some other shows being renewed midseason.
