Old Man Gloom Tour Merch
magnumtaurus replied to thischarmingman's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Saw them last night in San Diego... they had a full table. From what I remember: 5 different shirts, a hoodie, every LP except Seminar III (all for $15, except Christmas Eve I/II, which was $10), a shitload of CDs, and then some shit from what I assume was Aaron's collection: Euro press of Seminar II (which includes Zozobra/Seminar III as a second LP), orig Christmas press, Level Plane Oceanic test press ($100), Oceanic Remix box ($100), a Mammifer LP, and the print from the LA show they played at the Echo... ... oh, and they also fucking slayed so hard. Only like 40 people showed up to Soda Bar, which is sad, but they destroyed it like there were 4000 people there. -

Emailed Banquet last week, Jane said they shipped all UK orders out the last week of July. Didn't get a shipping confirmation, but the record showed up on my steps over the weekend, and the yellow/pink split is strange, but nice looking. -
PO: Wild Nothing - Nocturne (Deluxe/Standard)
magnumtaurus replied to nelso330's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Never ordering directly from CT again... ordered the deluxe DIIV record, waited two months, emailed them, waited two weeks, tweeted at them, got a response, they were sold out and never filled my order... I know they're a small org, but it's too much of a headache to deal with. -

Ordered immediately via credit card, but no Kung Fu receipt yet. Took a few hours when I ordered the Ashes & Fire deluxe set a while back, so I'm just going to be patient. Plus, something tells me they're going to cancel duplicate orders first, disperse remaining product to those who ordered, and THEN send out order cancellation emails. -

Just got back from Dark Lord... Rye'd The Lightning tastes exactly like Alpha King. I thought they poured me the wrong beer. -
I have a copy of Metallica - Beyond Magnetic that I don't even remember picking up at the store. It's yours at cost if you want it.

RSD records that aren't listed
magnumtaurus replied to shenanigans's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
The shit that Captured Tracks is putting out, Integrity - Palm Sunday, and Danny Brown's 'XXX'. Not listed as official 'RSD' releases. -
I've seen photos posted from a few stores who have physical copies of these ready for RSD, so they won't be online only.

There seems to be a lot of hate for the fair here, which I don't get. If you like crate digging, finding hidden gems, etc... the fair is amazing. If you're looking for new stuff, it's not the best use of your time. There are a few tables where guys overprice shit, but they account for a minority of the booths there. I've had some success haggling with dealers to bring the price down on multiple item purchases.

PO maudlin of the Well - 4xLP + 7" Box Set

#15/150 for the US... I've spun this entire box a few times now, and it rules supremely. The remastering is incredible. -

From what I understand, Hydra Head dudes are close friends with Vacation dudes (and I think Aaron Turner has some money vested in Vacation) but they're not the 'same people'. Vacation is a rad store and the guys who work there are super nice. Their in-store selection is incredible and carefully picked. Are they a few bucks more expensive? Yeah, a few, but honestly... I don't mind paying a few extra bucks to keep a unique record store open. Going to Vacation is always a highlight when visiting LA... those dudes are just trying to make a living selling records. Hydra Head as a label... is a different story.
