  1. well, mine showed up today, terrible results: Record mailer was thin as shit, bent in half, no additional padding or protection inside. Record jacket bent in the center and the record is cracked down the middle, I can tell without even opening it. Just put in an authorization for return. Granted it came all the way from Jersey (figures the ignoramus douche lives there) but it's still no excuse. What a joke seller, gonna leave them 1 star feedback soon. Hopefully everyone else's who got it for this price will show up without damage, I was not so lucky.
  2. Hahaha yeah right, my very first player was a low end belt-drive Stanton that I bought for less than 100 at guitar center. I never had a brand new record skip though, because I did research and realized that a cartridge and tonearm need proper calibration. The reason I gave him some flack was not because I consider myself a snob (quite the opposite (I know very little about turntable adjustment), but because he ignorantly blamed the problem on the pressings saying they were a waste of money, and didn't even think to check his crosley player out. It's called google homie
  3. I also have one copy left I can sell at cost, PM if interested. I'm pretty sure there are others on here too with it but I think everyone on this board who wanted one got one by now...
  4. So the turntable is $220 and the speakers are $200, seperate but both ppd (from amazon w/ free shipping), and the package deal is $500 from needledoctor. I guess $80 shipping makes sense for a huge package like that. I personally wouldn't buy it (speakers just seem too expensive for basic monitors) but hey, that's just me.
  5. I know there probably aren't a whole lot of people who enjoy death metal on these boards but... This is one of my favorite American death metal albums of all time. Am I alone in thinking there's a niche for this and other contemporary death metal releases on vinyl? Particularly releases from Sumerian and Metal Blade, they don't seem to put out much on vinyl... Veil of Maya, the Faceless, Wretched, Within the Ruins, Burning the Masses, CFTG just to name a few.. All would have a loving home in my collection if they ever saw a release. Who's with me? Oh, nobody? Darnit... :-/
  6. Why, because he actually listens to his records? Yeah, he listens to (damages) them on a cheap and practically defunct turntable that can't even play new records without skipping :
  7. Thanks for the heads up guys, just picked up a red copy of energy. Not big on variant collecting but glad to finally have this at a good price
  8. wants/trades in sig, let's do this!
  9. If I had even one brand-new-out-of-the-package record skip even just a single time on my table I would immediately test it on another player. You could take it to a guitar center or music shop and ask to test it out in a known trouble spot
  10. not saying your turntable is necessarily bad/old, i just think it's probably the source of your problem. It sounds like either cartridge misalignment or your counterweight is set wrong for your cartridge. What's your set up, and what is your counterweight set to? I personally don't even feel qualified to go into some of the technical details of turntable calibration, but I'm sure there are people on here that will help you out. ALSO ALSO ALSO on a more OP-related note: I have one more copy of this record to sell at cost, limited edition 8-bit cover artwork. Will ship internationally, pm if interested
  11. For this price, I really can't imagine getting more bang for your buck (speaking for new equipment). really? I can order that same turntable here for 220$ ppd: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATL....1092574& sr=8-1 I'm not a speaker expert by any means, but it seems like 280 dollars is a heck of a lot for a pair of what look like little M-Audio AV30s. are they that good?
  12. you have a lot of brand new vinyl that have skip(s) out of the package? sounds like your turntable bro. have you tested it on a different one? the vast majority everyone else's play fine.
  13. bump, website was bullshit, out of stock. hook it up!
  14. Yeah, my story that I told (not my response) was merely responding to the original post about hagglers that also berate you for not accepting their offer. The buyer sent me along with the 1$ offer a message that was out of line, rude and personally insulting. I'm not worked up or emotional about it, I was really just agreeing with the OP about pushy buyers with ridiculous offers who turn nasty when you decline them. This was just one story too, I have others. Obviously if someone sends a 1$ offer by itself it's with having a laugh over, but it's when they're actually taking that offer seriously and get upset when you reject it that i get annoyed.
  15. You can't blaim people for that. You list items at $200 you don't really want to sell except you have a good offer. Some dudes make low offer cause they don't really need it except they have a really good deal. Plus if someone buy it from you, you would probably be the 1st to post in thread like "things I regret" in a few weeks. Just keep or sell, don't play. I think you may have missed the part where the guy from my story offered me $1 on a $200 record. The complaint that I had was joke offers being thrown around, not that I was offered less than $200. I honestly would have given consideration to anything over the $60 mark, but sending a $1 offer is a metaphorical slap in the face. And then the rude message he sent was closer to a literal slap in the face. I'm down to help people out and yes I am down to sell it. I list all of my rare auctions high to let people know I'm not going to sell it for $20, but that's why I also accept offers. I'm not playing, the guy making the offer was.
  16. Thanks so much! I might place an order just because it's so cheap but I really doubt they'd get this back in stock, I'm pretty sure the band sold out on tour and this never got repressed. I'd still prefer a used copy if anybody on these boards has one get at me
  17. Looking for the only press, white /500. Get at me with prices if you got it and want to part, or maybe do a trade?
  18. or you can just move that entire bunch to the bottom shelf... especially considering that OG drugs to the dear youth LP is just waiting to be crushed... i treat my copy like i would my kin. Hahaha that's a good call man, I know it really looks like a disaster waiting to happen, doesn't it? There's actually about a two inch gap between the shelf and the records underneath in the middle although the angle of the pic does not show it and the shelves are definitely solid. I'm going to end up getting something better in the near future when my funds recover, but yeah I probably will move them soon. Thanks for the suggestion
  19. I know it does look that way, it's really sturdy but all the shelves are warped like that even with nothing on them because the guy I got it from had the whole thing filled for years.. It was actually twice as tall but the dude cut it in half and had the other half in his apartment still filled.. I guess I could spread them out between the shelves just in case... or just bite the bullet and invest in an expedit :-/
  20. Everyone has awesome storage areas! I recently overflowed out of my fourth crate... Picked up this hand-made badboy off craigslist for 20 bucks a few days ago
  21. I've shipped a record on one occasion and a blu ray on another to Malaysia, both with successful results. The main thing I warn buyers is I can't guarantee anything when shipping internationally since I have no clue if the postman in their country is stealing everyone's package or something. If they care that much (and most buyers don't in my experience) just charge them extra for insurance and tracking
