OP, avoid VC with threads like this. People here buy records for colors, not sound. That's why you'll get asshole responses to a legitimate question.
 
But to the point, rarely you'll see any info regarding source material on the release itself. It depends on what kind of music you usually buy. If you're into genres where sound quality is "more important", chances are that labels releasing them feel the same way and do whatever they can to achieve that. Most indie labels though don't even know enough about this to be able to make a smart decision.
 
The article 74R posted a few posts up is a great place to start, here's their shortlist of labels who at least try to give the consumer some useful information and are known for quality pressings from analog sources:
 

If it says 'of 25' them I think the word 'bamboozled' would be appropriate. The websit undoubtedly boasted 'limited to 20'.

It would be really cool if a small run of The Sleeping's first two records got pressed but I doubt that would happen.

I'm so glad I checked vinyl collective when I did I clicked the link not thinking it was real but the splatter looked so awesome I ordered one of each I didn't even think twice with bands like thrice you act fast or you miss out. I had to ask a relative to use their paypal because I only had cash on me I can't believe it sold out that damn quick tho still that's insane. But like everyones saying it happened so fast and without notice I think alot of people don't even know this happened otherwise this thread would be alot bigger I think.

Frustrated!! Called my hot topic several times and they didn't know when it was coming in. Called them today and the two copies they have are being held for other customers!   

I'm not saying it's perfect, but the algorithms these kinda things are based on need a lot info from all over the search space. They aren't always recommending movies they think you will love. They are trying to get new information out of you to improve the overall predictive power of the system.
Some of it really is (figurative) rocket science. Netflix used to give away a million dollar prize to anyone who could improve on their system. A lot of universities and labs would go after it.
