  1. Maybe wrap the records in a insulated bubble wrap? Or have a bubblewrap you can freeze like those frozen bags u put in with your lunch? Or just freeze the bubblewrap? What would Mr. Freeze do?
  2. I called Orange, CA HT and the guy immediately said they didn't have it. I had a feeling he didn't want to check it so I went over there and checked myself. No copies. So I figured they didn't get a new shipment yet. I'll check again today.
  3. It depends on the type of record and then where you live. Shipping a single LP to California is £7 pounds and £10.50 for a double LP. My wallet has a hulk smash dent thanks to the guys that make me proud my hometown.
  4. The most I've spent was on Thrice too. I won't pay more than $60 for Everything In Transit even if this album actually holds meaning for me.
  5. I already ordered it because I ordered their pressing of Illusion of Safety. If mine gets cancelled, no biggie.
  6. + Ordered Banquet's blue-coloured repressing of Thrice's "The Illusion of Safety" and "Major/Minor" repressing - £49.48 (after shipping) = $79.97 + potential fee for overseas goods + Received Dustin Kensrue's "This Good Night Is Still Everywhere" (red coloured) in the mail. The record came in brand new, sealed. - The box was only taped down the middle and the record wasn't protected by anything other than the box itself. I knew it was going to be bad because the seller hand wrote everything on the box. (I bought this via eBay.) + Went on Reddit to read an article about how life was easier back then, when you could be a part-time dishwasher, pay the bills, still have spending money, and get a bachelor's degree. Then land a job right after graduation.) - Realized that I still have to pay off my car before I can go back to being a full-time student again. Stress free.
  7. ~$35 to ship to California after applying conversion rates
  8. I'll pay $25 ppd to the person who can get me a copy!
  9. I'm taking this route. Thanks for the suggestion! And what petgrief said.
  10. PM me and we'll set something up. I live in Orange County, CA. The previous pressings sold out quick via retail but I was able to get all of them through HT.com. Hopefully, 2000 would be enough.
  11. Mine is probably older than that. 20+ years. But my dad barely used it. I'm thinking of getting a whole new cartridge to get with the times. What did you order?
  12. I remember during the pre-release of Beggars, that eventually released prematurely, the original album cover was switched with the current album cover. If they do repress Beggars, I wonder if they can repress it with the original. I was looking forward to that album cover. It wasn't really relative to the overall theme of the album, but I feel it had more depth with I believe is Jackie Kennedy surrounded by a bunch of other rich people at an important people's banquet.
  13. So I guess it's been a week since I posted this but..... I got it working! I removed the cartridge, examined the wiring, and like I said, the white wire was a little loose so I removed it and plugged it back in. I removed the stylus and well and that thing has dust gathered around the plastic area surrounding it. I don't have anything to clean it with except a can of dust remover. Put everything back. I also moved the RCA cord a bit and it's fine. In conclusion, it was just a loose connection in the cartridge. As far as sound quality, I have my turntable connected to my AIWA stereo and it sounds pretty good. I'm thinking of replacing the stylus and/or the cartridge. Not sure what I'll get though. Thanks to all of you who posted your suggestions. I'm glad I got this turntable working again. I almost bought a new one this weekend because of all the new records I bought recently. I really wanted to listen to them.
  14. 320 to 90. The housing market is such shit.
  15. Cool thanks guys. I was just wondering what everyone does with their old sleeves because I was going through my dad's old records and he had a ton of sleeves that look like they've seen better days. Maybe these would do? http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Innersleev....6289339&sr=8 -1
  16. When you guys have an old record with old inner sleeves, do you keep the old one or replace them with brand new ones? Would it make a difference?
