  1. lol @ the ppl on tumblr thinking Joybringer is Dustin's new album
  2. Bought Kid A and it was described NM/NM. The jacket is fine, but the records have scratches on them. It looked like the previous owner had a dust and cat problem. I'm fucking pissed right now cause I cleaned all the dust and found the scratches after. It's tough listening to the intro of "Kid A" when you have constant popping.
  3. Here ya go, bud. Sorry it took a while. Here's Thursday's spread in case any of you wanted to see it. I recently found WATT for 9.99 at a local shop and Thrice/Thursday split for 4.99. Both VG/VG++ condition. I'm really glad I found them randomly. Low expectations ftw. Also, does anyone know if the 1st pressing of WATT came with just the booklet? Or maybe a lithograph? Much <333
  4. I was curious about wood glue last night because I remember seeing a couple of videos on YouTube with users applying wood glue to their records for deep cleaning. I used it last night for the first time. I was amazed. This technique is only used for 12" LPs. I'm gonna try it on 10", which shouldn't be a problem. Wood glue should never be used on 78rpm records and the only info I know about using wood glue on 45rpm records is don't do it (yet). I only own one 45rpm record, Thrice/Thursday split that I kinda want to clean. I also inherited an old 7" record, that I may use as a test. I have to check if it's a 78 or 45 rpm, and worth something before applying any type of glue. Materials: Gorilla Glue brand Wood Glue. Do not get it confused with their regular Gorilla Glue. The brand of choice I've seen in other forums and videos is Titebond. There are two version of it. I usually hear people talking about Titebond II. A card, flash card, index card, old credit card, something with a flat edge to even out the glue across the surface of the record. I used a download card from Cold War Kid's "Loyalty To Loyalty". A turntable, preferably an old one you don't care about if you pushed some glue outside the edges and onto the turntable. A good amount of patience You can include: Brand new inner sleeves in case you're cleaning some recently purchased records from the local swap meet or garage sale. Anti-static dryer sheets to place on the bottom side of the record because there will be a good amount of static after you remove the wood glue. Pretty much I have my technique down. After applying the glue and spreading it out evenly, it takes about 90 minutes to dry, compared to the ~14 hours it took on my first attempt. I keep the record spinning on my turntable at 45 rpm with the lid off. If I don't keep it spinning it won't dry as "fast". I'm thinking of buying a brand new fan to blow against the direction of the record while it's spinning to improve dry time. I'm glad about the way my record turned out. It turned a VG++ into a NM/NM-. I'm glad I discovered this early on in my collection of about 50+ records. I don't have much to clean.
  5. I know how you feel man. I ordered a TV online and specifically asked for signature confirmation and if no one's home, to just bring it back to the office and leave a note for me to pick it up. Joe N. Competent gave the TV to the neighbour who lives in front of me who I have never, ever met in my life. I went home during my lunch break so I can be home when the mailman arrives. I was a little late. He left a note saying he left it with my neighbour's address. I didn't know their house number so I walked around to see who's house it was and then walked back to my house looking so defeated because I feel like I just lost my TV and I have to call UPS and complain. Luckily, when I was walking back from their house my neighbour opened the door and asked if I was expecting a package. I told her yes, thanked her, and then left with my box. But before I left I quickly inspected the box to see if it had been tampered with and it was fine. She was just some young woman staying at home with her baby (or baby sister/brother). UPS is awesome when you feel like losing big ticket items. As for USPS, most of the time they're cool. I'm lucky the sun doesn't hit my doorstep or I would just leave a note saying to leave them under my doormat.
  6. debating on buying this for my dad for fathers day or save the money and get him the classics
  7. Went to a fundraiser for my Relay for Life team at the local Wing Stop and dropped by the used music and movies store next door. Who knew I could get some cool finds? Disney's Christmas Favorites TOP GUN SOUNDTRACK (the jacket is kinda suck though) The Karate Kid Part II Soundtrack Star Wars Soundtrack Thursday - War All The Time Thrice/Thursday 7" split - Under A Killing Moon/For The Workforce, Drowning
  8. seangj, give that man a beer for being awesome! I didn't even know the record I bought from him was still sealed!
  9. I would love to see the neighbours north of us (in Orange County) riot because 3 of their teams couldn't produce a championship this year.
  10. I don't see the point in using a new record mailer all the time. For one, it's uneconomical. If it's not badly beaten (and shouldn't be if the previous person packed well), then why not use it again? If there's something I'm good at through recycling, it's reusing record mailers. I also make my own from cardboard we throw away at my work.

  12. An eBay buyer sent me a nice message regarding my packaging methods. He mentioned that it looked like the box was used at least once. Don't complain if you have a (12) next to your name.
