Am I crazy or wasn't this supposed to be released on April 29th? It says May 29th now but I swear it was April when I ordered. Also, the price went down since I pre-ordered and the shipping cost is also cheaper. I emailed them asking for a refund of the difference but haven't heard back. Am I being unreasonable?

I haven't listened to this yet but I'm assuming you don't like Sap or Jar of Flies?

Check your VTA or try a wet clean. Any time I've had a "clean" record skip, my VTA was off or it was a new record that I hadn't cleaned. I wet clean all of my records now. I just listened to my original and it sounds great. Whenever I've had originals to compare to MOV presses, they're always very close in sound quality. I wish they would have picked Core and Album of the Year before Purple and Angel Dust but that's only because I don't have them. Glad they are repressing these so more people can get a copy.

Exactly. I received my second copy too. It's awful, distortion starts at the beginning of Zero. I realize now what most of you are dealing with. My original only mildly distorts near the middle and doesn't really get too bad until the very end of the song. To anyone wondering about what turntables, cartridges, alignment, etc, I've used: Rega RP3 with Ortofon 2M Bronze (work demo), a Pioneer PL-530, Akai AP-206, Dual 1225 and Realistic LAB-250. All of those turntables with a variety of cartridges: Ortofon 2M Blue, Ortofon Super OM10, Shure M70EJ, Realistic (Shure) R47EDT and Shure M92E. All aligned with a mirrored protractor, VTA adjusted with various headshell and turntable mat combinations. I know none of that is high end but it isn't junk. If anything, the distortion is less noticeable with the cheap M92E but that's mainly because it has less detail than the rest.

Well, let's just say that it's very likely the second one won't sound better.

Fuck it! I'm re-ordering before the price goes up anymore. I only paid $28 for my first copy and I'll just return this one if it sounds the same.

My red copy isn't warped and weighs 133 grams. The Secular Haze 10" is 118 grams. I actually weighed them in case anyone really cares. Who doesn't have a digital scale beside their turntable? I like the tshirt. The poster is nice and thick and came rolled up in a separate box packed inside a larger box that included everything else. And they shipped mine UPS Express so it arrived the day after they shipped.

Just received shipping notification from Merge. I might actually get a pre-order on or before the release date!

I receive this message from amazon.ca for most of my pre-orders. Never had one cancelled except Mellon Collie but they ended up correcting that. Anyways, I received this same message a couple of days ago then just received notification that my order is shipping today.

It was $46 to Canada. The Popmarket deals aren't as good for Canadians after the postal rates increase.
