  1. I got an email from Amazon saying they are still trying to obtain the item and asking if I wanted to cancel my order since it was delayed. Their estimate: March 27, 2013 - April 19, 2013
  2. I'm tentatively excited about this. But if there's no extra music or no sprucing up of the sound quality, this will be a hard sell for me.
  3. I recall the mbv website said these wouldn't ship out until the 22nd.
  4. Hello, I have a sealed copy of The Mars Volta's Frances The Mute, original pressing and all that. I'd like to trade it for a copy of The Mars Volta's Scab Dates, in either new or NM. I might be open to other things, so if you're interested in acquiring this gem, hit me up.
  5. So my first red copy was warped pretty badly. King's Road apologized and sent me a 2nd red one. This one wasn't as warped as the 1st, but the first track on each side was unplayable. So I emailed them again. And they were very nice and apologetic. They told me to just send back the first, most warped version, and keep the 2nd red one and they'd send me a black copy for my troubles. They Fed Ex'd it to me in two days. So now I have a red copy for collecting purposes and a black copy that plays perfectly for everyday use. So while the experience was frustrating, I have to tip my hat to King's Road and say their customer service is pretty great.
  6. If you like Shootenanny and Souljacker, you'll like this. I personally enjoy it more than I have anything since Blinking Lights.
  7. This is incredibly exciting. It'll be great to hear recordings from the early days. I'd love to hear them like they sounded when I saw them back in 98/99 and all. Plus, many of the songs are sounding better than ever lately. I dunno, I think this is a very cool idea.
  8. I've been every year TMR has been to SxSW. I liked it much better all the years before last year where they took up residence at Frank's and stayed there all week. During SxSW Austin's far more crowded than any other time of year so getting around is slow and difficult if it's not in the immediate downtown area, so yes, last year it was a huge pain in the ass to run around trying to catch the RRS. Sometimes they let you know the day before where they will be the next morning and then if you show up about 4 hours before they open, you're probably going to get whatever tri-color or variant they're selling that day.
  9. AT-PL120 with an AT-440MLA cartridge/stylus Were you expecting those with problems to say Crosley?
  10. Somebody on the NIN forums asked Rob if there was going to be any special edition or bonus deal from the official site like with Omen and he said no there wouldn't be. Take that for it's worth I suppose.
  11. So, b/c I'm crazy, I now have a standard black version, the clear HT version, and the 180gram version. I only really want to open 1. Common sense tells me to just open the standard black version to listen to. What do you guys think? Has anybody listened to the different versions and can comment on sound quality differences? B/c I honestly care more about an excellent listening experience than collectability. I know 180g is a little more sturdy and long-lasting, but to my knowledge the SQ is the same if they're from the same stamper, right? Were they pressed in the same place?
  12. I don't know what you're talking about in regards to the Toadies album. It's available right now from their online store: http://kirtlandrecords.com/store.htm It was delayed a few months true, but it's been available for a while... Here's an Amazon link where you can buy it right now: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008ECNV8Y/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  13. Finally got around to listening to my red copy. It's warped--First tracks unplayable on side 1. Sigh...
  14. I just don't understand why they won't repress Aenima or press 10,000 Days at all. Both would be like printing money! Who's clogging the works on this, the record company or the band? At least throw us some vinyl represses to generate renewed interest in the band if you insist on dragging your feet and touring and recording with Puscifer while allegedly working on Tool, Maynard. Also, as neat as the pic disc looks, I'd really like a Lateralus repress on black 180g vinyl instead of pic disc.
  15. Forgot to post this the other day, but it was an awesome haul in one mail day: Bad Religion - True North Bad Religion - Atomic Garden 7" w/ etched B-side Iggy & Stooges - Raw Power (2LP RSD edition) David Bowie - Excerpts from Outside (MOV reissue)
  16. Right, which is why I was comparing True North to No Control, a fellow clear red record instead of a solid-colored New America or something. I was just wanting to give you fine folks a color comparison on what color red True North actually was.
  17. Well, hopefully I can catch one online since no stores near me have it and the one that did 45 miles away had some hoarder take them all...sigh. Between this, the delay on Amazon order and the super expensive announcement from deftones.com it's been a frustrating day to be a fan of this album.
  18. Got the red. It's definitely a darker color than the red used on the box set:
  19. If they would have made this special edition a 2LP then it would have been an insta-buy. But $37 is a difficult sell just for 180g & a foil stamp.
  20. Hello fellow Austinite. I called the San Marcos Hot Topic and they have 3 if you're sick of the delay...
  21. I couldn't find a better place to put this so I figure I would ask here: anybody know why Epitaph has let both Unknown Road and About Time go out of print on vinyl? It seems strange to leave the newer, not quite as good records stay in print but not these absolute classics. Perhaps gearing up for a boxset ala the Bad Religion and NOFX sets sometime this year or next?
