  1. Pardon my ignorance, but what is Lunchbox? Link please?
  2. Yes, and I suggest starting with Anarchy Evolution. The tone is much more conversational. You get the best of both worlds: information about the genesis of Bad Religion and the making of some of their most important albums, but you also get his science side as he relates what was going on in his scientific career during albums and explains the theories and ideas of his dissertation in a very plainspoken manner. It's a great book and all easy to grasp, plus it's a very unique style to do a biography. I also think that it makes his dissertation much more enjoyable because you know where his ideas and headspace were at the time he wrote it, plus like I said, he describes the ideas in much more "layman" fashion. But you should definitely check out his other stuff after that book.
  3. Here's my review of the album: http://ourvinyl.com/the-killers-battle-born-album-review/
  4. This is definitely their worst album by far. The all over the place factor makes it sound less like variety and more like just throwing ideas against a window and seeing what will stick. The bassist's tracks aren't so bad, but his songs almost feel out of place next to Matt's ridiculous compositions. That Survival song still makes me cringe and the fact that there's TWO dubtstep like tracks is awful. They were one of my favorite bands at one point, so this is heartbreaking.
  5. The strange thing to me about this box set is that for Help! and Rubber Soul, they're using the 1986 Stereo Mix...WHY?!! I still kinda want it tho since the only ones I have is Abbey Road and a really beat-up US pressing of Rubber Soul that's missing a few tracks...
  6. Dammit, I'm totally jealous of listening pool parties! Mine hasn't arrived yet...when's a reasonable time to not be patient anymore?
  7. Same here. This sounds absolutely AWFUL. Even after some cleaning it still sounds distorted and crappy. Thinking about asking for a refund.
  8. It's hands-down my favorite. I like all of their albums, but none of them come close to the raw awesomeness of this one for me. Plus the record will be GOLD-colored!! Ooooh. Very excited about this one.

  10. I just listened to this album for the first time today. It might be a grower but on first listen pretty disappointed. The whole thing is even more 80s sounding than before if that's even possible, and very soft and sappy for the most part. It's like they forgot how to rock or something. But this comes from someone who's loved all of their albums, so who knows, maybe it will get better with some more listens.
  11. Ordered instantly. The songs sound so good and I can't wait to spin this. ...BUT I do have a complaint. In this day and age, 160kbps MP3s?!! REALLY?! If I paid $5 for just the digital download I'd be furious!
  12. Hopefully it'll pop up for preorder on some other sites too that offer free/cheap shipping. I'm completely stoked for a Mo-Fi Blue Album. Their Beck 'Sea Change' is phenomenal. Glad I held out for so long to own this one.
  13. It makes me happy to know that so many people are supporting such a quality band.
  14. Has anyone received their download of "I Came Around" yet from the Kickstarter? I pledged last Friday and still haven't gotten the download in my mail. If it's just me that's left out, anybody know the best address to contact about it?
  15. So all of the press I saw about this set's download card said there was a total of 218 tracks. When I downloaded, unzipped and put into iTunes it only counts 217 tracks. But I've compared each folder to what's inside the original .zip file and can't figure out what I'm missing. Does anybody else have this same problem? Know anything about it?
  16. Yeah, not a fan of the splatter either. I'll wait until the clear goes up on Amazon. It'll be cheaper and w/Prime I'll have free 2 day shipping.
