  1. White Stripes Elephant The Aussie version where they both have white on SOLD for $717!! yikes, been looking for this one since the LP came out, guess I will quit looking...
  2. It is the Amazon deal of the day for MP3 downloads 3.99!!! for 1's and 0's. http://www.amazon.com/Transference/dp/B0033FM77S/ref=dm_fb_spoon_dd
  3. great idea if you specialize in DEVELOPMENT: PHP CSS Javascript Ajax CSS is the big one, become an expert in that and you will be golden, its been in more and more demand over the past few years (I work in ecommerce yo). Be a web developer, not a designer, very rarely do you find someone with excellent talents in BOTH. Who ever said a company wont hire someone with both is completely wrong. If you work for a mom and pop shop maybe but a real company will separate the two. Skip - Cold Fusion, Flash, and ASP.
  4. Limited to 300 hand numbered copies http://www.roughtrade.com/site/shop_detail.lasso?search_type=sku&sku=321768 UK only. Also Heavenly put out a UK 7" limited to 400 copies. Can't get that from Rough Trade, gotta use Recordstore.co.uk. lots of releases from these guys to keep up with!

  9. Yooo, looking for these 2 releases I missed form the Soft Pack / Muslims Extinction 12" EP - Merok Records release Nightlife 7" -- The Caspian Label PM if you got um and wanna sell um, I pay good.
  10. That's too bad, dude had produced and recorded a TON of bands, was very heavy in the vinyl seen, will be missed.
  11. http://www.discogs.com/label/Epitaph+Records This might help, wish more collectors would get on this site!
  12. Bella Unions store has been down for awhile, might be worth emailing them and asking if they have a copy. I purchase mine from them about a year ago. They did a small re-press. The sleeve on this LP drives me nuts, its thin cardboard that always feels wet or moist, its weird.
  13. what do you do as a metadata specialist? Sounds very interesting and your description didn't tell me too much.
  14. There are so many payment companies out there you have no idea. I work in the payments industry, there are a ton better then or as good as PayPal, (2Checkout, Moneta, Mpayy, Click and Buy, Zong, direct ebanking, so many) lots of start-ups this year too but its tough to go against a giant. Banks are sick of PayPal cannibalizing their income and are now starting to create similar services and get involved so they can get a cut. Square is going to change things, allow small labels and bands to sell on the road and accept CC, labels and bands that travel an only take cash should REALLY check that out. Europe is interesting, the new SEPA program will make direct debits much easier, cut back on many mandates and allow better cross border payments, and will help cut back PayPal usage I believe. The next few years will be interesting in the alternative payment market. Since Visa has gone public analysts are forecasting more new fees, higher interchange fees and just a lot more costs involved for the merchants. (being as they now have a board of shareholders to answer to) Most labels do not understand that having more then just PayPal on their site is very very beneficial. I wish more label had more offerings for payment methods. Ecommerce conversion 101, more payment options = higher conversion rate.
  15. When there is some rap music boomin, or some hipster wanna be punk rock singer song writer crap. Actually I don't really care either way. Long as somethins jammin.
  16. I got some good stuff (I think) this year: Beck - Odelay Box Set Warlocks Kings of Convenience Spiritualized something I have forgotten already. I got 1 more under the tree that I open tonight for my birthday...
  17. A nice selection of receivers from the Crutchfield year end sale, including a Sony 2 channel, some nice deals in here. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Specials/Default.aspx?c=4
  18. Dont discount a receiver just because it does not have a built in pre-amp / phono-input. You can always buy a pre-amp. I would personally recommend that you get a new receiver and spend most of that money you got. A nice receiver you only use on your turntable now will be very nice when you get your own place and want to hook up a nice tv and your stereo system in the same room.
  19. An interesting chart here comparing the US and the UK and their digital music trends. http://blogs.forrester.com/consumer_mark....u s-and-eu.html Those in the US are much more likely to pay for digital tunes. Going to be checking out the full report today, should be an interesting read to see how the other countries culture is around this.
  20. White Stripes / Jack White Think I have about 60 of their releases, then you count the Jack white side projects and all the records he played this or that in and I have about 100.
  21. yeah the downtown Columbus branch has a full floor of media, some zines, a huge section of graphic novels, tons of fun stuff. I think the only places with these collections are the big city main branches. vitty vlog what do you mean you got the free, like you borrowed them right? They dont just give them away for free?!?! That is really awesome!
  22. no way! Knife hills are fun! Its a reflex thing most of the time, but nothing beats walking up on the damn sniper who shoot you 3 times, staring at him for 10 seconds to get the kill cam caught up and stabbin his ass. as far as the supply crate, killed myself with my own crate drop the other day, felt like a big tard.
  23. been straight up addicted to the multiplayer on COD Modern Warfare 2, best mulitplayer I have ever played, and I have been playing since Quake 2. Great maps, very well balanced, tons of fun!!
