Australian dollar is at a 5 and a half year low against the USD. Coupled with our new lower shipping rates, now is a great time for US folks to grab any Australian releases you're looking at, that otherwise can be difficult to get. We've got Hobbledehoy AUS/NZ pressings of the following available that some VC folks are into: THIS WILL DESTROY YOU - Another Language 2LP (Blue /500) CASPIAN - Waking Season 2LP (Seafoam Blue /250) OWEN - L'Ami Du Peuple LP (Black /100 + Yellow /200) BRAID - Closer To Closed LP (Blue 180g /300) LYMBYC SYSTYM - Shutter Release LP (White /188 + Black /192) + and plenty of other releases of course. http://hobbledehoyrecords.com/store/product-category/vinyl/ USD $1.00 = AUD $1.23 at time of typing this.

You're right Derek - If it does happen, it'll be so overpriced as it's ONLY going through our AUS/NZ retail distributor. Hence why some of our releases on Interpunk have very high prices and others are much lower. I'd be surprised if it did make it anywhere honestly. Important to note, because of the numbers in Ryan's group buy, and his continued long term support of the label - I discounted the final total. Ryan (presidential candidate if I'm not mistaken, from previous comments) has passed these savings on to each buyer. You won't do better then that group buy.

Hey Mark - Records haven't arrived yet, stuck with government customs. I will be shipping out international orders first, on a first come first serve basis. Most Australian customers will receive their packages just before the release date. Keep in mind I'm just one dude and I do this in my spare time, and work a full time day job. There are almost 200 orders to pack. All orders will come with an album download, which will be sent shortly before the SEP 16 release date. Suicide Squeeze, the US record label, have not sent out orders yet.

thanks man. unfortunately our pressing of tunnel blanket came out about 4 months after the suicide squeeze version did. huge complications with the pressing, but all good now. there are maybe 20 copies left of the 1st press with me? so if anyone's keen, i wouldn't snooze. still a few floating around stores, but only a very small number.

Actually a very common arrangement for AUS/NZ releases with overseas label releases. There are very few local vinyl releases, oftentimes the US or EU pressing is shared with AUS/NZ. Because unless handled well, most releases aren't going to sell more than ~100 copies here. Unless AUS/NZ labels do 250+ pressings and do things smart, it's not worthwhile to do low volume vinyl pressings due to the high per-unit cost. It can be cheaper for the customer to just have the US/EU import, even imported into retail stores and purchased with the stores mark up. Hence why AUS/NZ pressings of bands from outside our countries are even more rare... and why I'll never make any money. -

Nothing we can do about postage I'm afraid, 2LPs anywhere in the country range from about $10-17 postage depending where you are. It's horrible, our postal service is not vinyl friendly. -
All music retail stores around Australia have access to our full catalog via MGM Distribution. So if they don't have it in the store you go to, you can ask them to order it. The RRP will be AUD $35.95 - but just like all things retail, some stores will have it more expensive, some will have it cheaper.

Because this is a 2LP, plus gatefold packaging (that's heavier than normal as well) it doesn't help with postage. If it's within the same state it's a bit cheaper, but we're based in Adelaide, SA so no luck there for Melbourne. It's often more than $16. In your case, once factoring in the cost of the LP mailer and paypal fees it's actually a lot more. I know it sucks, but nothing we can do about postage. Stores will have this come late September if you don't want to pay shipping. RRP is $36.

Ryan puts so much effort into these releases. While he presses in some sizeable (but by no means huge) numbers, the prices are very reasonable. Good dude.
