  1. Without sounding like "that guy" we got the album at work last week... hands down the best since Hot Damn!, definitely the heaviest since too. Kurt Balou has really hit it out the park.
  2. Haha my night was still fairly chilled, i watched the game, cooked a steak and then met the group of people i go to games with at about 10pm in highbury for a couple of drinks. It was awesome. Also went to the parade the next day which was fun. There's a lot to be said for supporting your local team, maybe if the Liverpool and United fans i know lived in Liverpool or Manchester, they might understand why EVERYONE in the area was out all night and complained less. But they don't, so they won't.
  3. I hate City but i don't think i could have stood Liverpool winning it. It's just a shame they're winning it by throwing as much money into the team as they can, FFP is a joke, the teams that got pulled up for not falling into line got a fine... they fined teams with unlimited cash for spending unlimited cash, how is that a deterrent? I really hope Arsenal can get back to winning things, i'd just like to see it done by a club using it's own resources.
  4. So happy Koscielny has extended his contract. Best centre back in the league.
  5. I love this band, hated their last album, though. But i PO'd anyway, the shipping to the UK is pretty standard so i'm not fussed. I just hope this isn't stacked full of Odd Future guest spots.
  6. That Bale goal... wow. Bartra should have cleaned him out, probably would have only gotten a yellow.
  7. haha thanks. See that really deep rug she's lying on? Came home to a hairball right in the middle of it, took me an hour to clean it out. Fucking disgusting, she insists on doing that shit exclusively on the 25% of our place with carpet, never, ever on the wooden floor. Ever.
  8. This made me laugh! We have a rescue cat called Sadie who we've had for about 4 years, she's a tabby with bengal somewhere in there which makes her a fucking dick when she wants to be, and she usually wants to be at around 5.30am. She's super cute, though, so she can stay.
  9. Adrian doesn't have to be in possession of the ball, he just has to make contact with it before making contact with Flanagan, which is exactly what happened. Likewise with a defender chasing back, if he takes the ball and then the man, there can be no arguments, it's a totally fair challenge. If the striker is tripped in a second incident as he gets up or tried to regain his footing then i agree, it's a red card. You have to take into consideration that it's a contact sport, if i'm playing and get tackled fairly and end up on the floor then whether i could have reached the ball before went out of play or to an opposing player is inconsequential.
  10. You can't possibly argue that there was two phases in that challenge, the keeper's momentum, Flanagan going down under his (legal) challenge all make that a total moot point, he would never have regained control of that ball because of the initial challenge. Also, what you say about the direction the ball travels after a challenge is not true. Let's say, for argument's sake that a striker is through on goal and is shoulder to shoulder with a defender who slides him, toes the ball away towards his own goal and goalkeeper and in doing so his momentum or a tangle of legs takes place after the defender makes the challenge, is that a fk? Definitely not. If you make contact with the ball and the man goes down too, unless it's dangerous, you're in the clear every time regardless of where the ball goes. The only time it wouldn't be would be, for example, if the ball was within reach, the striker tried to regain his footing to chase and was tripped again, there would have to be a definite second phase and in this case, there definitely, definitely wasn't.
  11. Never a second penalty. If it was a foul every time a player got slid into after contact has been made with the ball then the game would be stopped every 30 seconds, he got the ball and then the man, totally, totally legal. The ref was levelling things up, simple as that.
  12. Thought we were good value against city, second half we absolutely dominated them. But i'm worried about Everton. Having said that:
  13. been doing interval training for the last week, already knocked a good bit of time off my normal 5k time, ran a 22min 5k yesterday but yet to see whether my 10k time will be improved, running one on sunday.
  14. I'm the Arsenal guy. In fact i got my ticket to the FA Cup semi today, so looking forward to seeing us crash out to Wigan at Wembley.
  15. Started MGS: Ground Zeros tonight, not played an MGS game for so long, fuck they are hard.
  16. I'm into it, i'm also into interiors. This website is great: www.desiretoinspire.net
  17. Anyone else find that treadmills slow your pace down? in 2012/13 i ran outside all year, all through winter and kept getting really bad coughs from all the cold air i was sucking in. So in november last year i joined a gym to spend the winter running in there, i like it and it's on the way home from work so it's a great time saver but i'm way slower on it. I usually run 10k in about 46-48 mins and i'm no where close to that even on zero gradient, if i push the speed up to around what i'd do outdoors, i get really tired after 10 mins. Anyone else noticed this? My friend is an amazing runner (10km in 40 mins) and finds the exact same thing. Anyway, i've got about a month left until i'm going to look at getting out of my membership as it's getting warmer, i'll be interested to see what my times are like. Aside: running fucking rules, i took it up as i play football (soccer) twice a week in midfield and i needed to be fitter, three years later and i can literally run opponents into the ground over the course of a match. Taking it up was the best thing i ever did!
  18. As someone who had a stag do in south wales... i can help. We went go-karting (had to dress as mario) and then went to Cardiff, few drinks, went to our hotel, had dinner and then went into town where we of course went to a strip club. Was safely tucked up in bed by 5am and up at 8 to play a round on a ryder cup golf course... it was awesome. So basically... strippers.
  19. Nah, no 3pm games. Worst idea ever, i don't really know what the deal is with it.
  20. Because we keep finishing second in our group. Had we sat back and taken a draw at home to Dortmund, we'd be playing a weaker team. But we didn't and we don't, so no one to blame but ourselves!
  21. Another unbelievable goal at The Emirates today. Reckon this might be as good as Wilshere's against Norwich.
