Out of Breath Records
So I bought a cassette duplicator last week, and they just included the tracking number, and it was sent from San Diago, California, and I live in southern Orange County, probably about 50 miles north of where it was shipped from. I just checked tracking and it's now in Vernon? 5 miles south of Los Angeles, which is about 50 miles north of ME. Is it just plain inefficiency on USPS's part? Korgull Of Morgoth
Believe it or not, but depending on the locations of sorting sites, shipping hubs and so on, parcels do not always travel in straight line form point A to point B

Liimpan
So packages don't go from Post Office to Post Office in such close proximities? Nope. Most often everything goes to a sort of "Main Post Office" and gets sorted there

San Diago, CA is actually 75 miles north of Orange County and often gets confused with San Diego, CA.

Parcel probably went to the their main hub to get sorted and then assigned to your local spot.

David The Gnome
It's the USPS; get used to things not making sense. If it says delivered and you don't have it, then you should contact them. Other than that, just sit tight.

Little known fact about San Diago is that it was discovered by the Germans, and means "whale's vagina".

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
its south buddy nope, san diago is north of where he lives, packages are delivered in a straight line from point A to point B and NEVER deviate from this direct route. So packages don't go from Post Office to Post Office in such close proximities?
