GhostTrail
So does he scream on this album? Nope; not in the least bit.
markok
Dont go there and say that you wont listen to it because there are no growls, that would be fucking dumb. This is their best since Ghost Reveries and probably the first that works best on the vinyl format.
kannibal
I have a US copy on vinyl, but it is unopened, and all this talk if bad pressings really annoys me. I think they used united for this, no? They used Pallas for Heritage and the pressing and box set was top notch.
tco
Just listened to my version on clear and it's perfect, and gonna agree with Marko with it being maybe their best since GR!
valve
Guys, how is the quality of the vinyl pressing for you? I've gone through two copies and the vinyl quality is poor....rice krispies in most quiet parts plus tics all spread around randomly. No amount of cleaning helped. If there are quiet pressings out there, I will likely keep pursuing it till I get a good copy. Else, I won't bother and live with what I have. I have only got one from Amazon and the pressing was not good, it had lots of surface noise. I read on another forum that others had problems with the US pressings. I returned it, I might get a European pressing if more people report that they're better.
shaizada
Wait the Clear version sounds perfect?? Damn it...I'm going to have to purchase this album again. Damn it...why can't they just press it properly once! Fuckers.

Yip, well pressed silent LP, just listened again this morning and my euro clear is faultless, my setup is pretty unforgiving if the record doesn't have the best pressing! bluetripleb1
I have not purchased the black and probably won't, but I can also confirm the pressings on Red and Clear both sound fantastic.
Larm73
I can also confirm that the black vinyl has a lot of surface noise . There are too many new records like this. I love collecting and listening to vinyl but I find myself second guessing when I pay 30-40 bucks on a new record and it has defects. So far, not as bad as I had feared, but still too much. Especially for this record. It is a shame that places try to save a buck or two and put out crappy vinyl. Especially when they charge as though they didn't save money pressing it at a cheap plant.
ExtraFox
Any good places online to buy the red or clear for USA peeps? Red was a Nuclear Blast exclusive. Sold out at NB Europe and not available at NB USA. Clear was only at OMerch and is sold out. They are in the hands of the fans and the flippers. ExtraFox
Thanks. How about a good place to buy the black EU pressing then? EMP have exclusive silver viny. They may not ship to the USA. Try the links to thier various shops at the bottom of the page if this one doesn't let you ship to the USA. http://www.emp-online.co.uk/opeth-pale-communion-2-lp/art_287433/ Cheapest I found black (though it says awaiting new stock) http://www.whatrecords.co.uk/items/62411.htm valve
gumbercules
I was coming in to say my black US sounds fine, but now that I'm on side 3, it shorts out in the right channel here and there for about a minute during the beginning of the first track. UGH
Aealo
So my sample from black EU press sounds better than US press? https://soundcloud.com/aealo/sample
shaizada
Man, I need to get a better copy of this. My black US vinyl bothers me during quiet passages I have no intention of paying flipper prices on ebay either. Anyone have any solution to this issue? Where can I get a simple clean pressing. I could care less about the color of the vinyl, I just want a clean pressing. The things we go through to partake in the music of the bands we love...gees. I'm going to check out the high resolution digital version and see what I think I guess. But I just really want the clean vinyl! 24/96 HDTracks, here I come! All the other pressings are European ones. Red and clear are long sold out. Without shipping, the cheapest EU black copies are on Discogs, but here's some stores that still have copies.
