toomanyrecords
Couldn't find one, so I figured I'd make one and see what cool stuff you folks have been listening to. I'm always up for new music, and this is a genre I only got into a few months ago so I have a huge world to explore. Really digging: Tycho (!!!) Kodomo Lux Phaeleh Com Truise Cashmere Cat Would love more stuff along these lines. Also, you can just talk about what you're listening to in the genre and stuff. I'm currently spinning Phaeleh - Tides and it sounds incredible. I heard side A on my speakers and now I'm listening to side B in my cans and it's a whole new experience. Not better, just different. ̮ ɤ ̮
I'm relatively new to this whole electronic/downtempo/chillwave genre, but Tycho stood out for me as well. At the moment I also dig the latest Teen Daze album "Glaciers". The general sound is a bit different than Tycho's, but the use of blending guitars sometimes makes me feel of Tycho. Aych
This is definitely one of my favorite genres to listen to if I'm just chilling, or driving around at night. I also listen to a lot of it at work. A few noteworthy groups to check out: Zero 7 Thievery Corporation Lone (one of my favorite artists out there right now) Schlohmo Teebs Chrome Sparks Bonobo Four Tet Baths Apparat Nosaj Thing MMOTHS Keep Shelly In Athens Röyksopp kamalatapes

Derek™
Yeah, this thread definitely feels done before. But ya'll need Blue Sky Black Death in your lives. Preferably NOIR or Glaciers.
The Vool
I absolutely have no clue what you mean with Downtempo Electronic...well, I can imagine what it is, but not what the difference to other electronic genres are (except for the speed ) Any song examples / recommendations? deafening
I definitely second with the Chrome Sparks suggestion. Been listening to that a lot lately.
codeine
YeahI'm gonna second Baths, Cerulean is a must-hear.Also want to second BSBD, but I'm gonna say Late Night Cinema because that's the one I'm most familiar with.and also Luo is pretty chill and all his stuff is name your price on bandcamp:http://luomusic.bandcamp.com/album/lapis-lazuli-ep
radiatorhums
I'm gonna second Baths, Cerulean is a must-hear. I never really thought of Baths as downtempo, but both of his albums are excellent. I think Cerulean is the stronger of the two, but I enjoy them both quite a bit.
codeine
Yeah I dunno, someone else suggested it first and I just think that album is really good, and worth suggesting as a listen. It's definitely chill and electronic. Is BSBD downtempo? I don't think so but they can be pretty chill.Good call on Four Tet - a solid suggestion. I would have to second that as well.
