It's a music forum yes, but it specializes in vinyl. If the same bands release cassettes then talk about them in this thread the same way you're doing it right now. In no way am I trying to stop that from happening. I was simply asking if you guys thought it was really necessary to create a new board specifically for cassettes. And you seem to have taken that personal for some reason. The fact that you mentioned the sports threads is interesting though... why would you not have started with requesting that it get stickied and see if the traffic increased enough to warrant the full message board? Take a step back and realize I'm not trying to kibosh anything and have a discussion. If you can convince me it could actually help you guys gain traction with the mods. Definitely better than getting defensive and telling me to "go prance around somewhere else"... Honestly that's the way it came off as you trying to slam our efforts to have a thread becoming a board. But the main objective behind this is that VC gets a lot of traffic from vinyl collectors who often collect tapes too. Having it stickied would be nice. But imagine if all the vinyl boards were condensed, that would be impossible to look through. If you really think that's unnecessary, then I can't wait until there's threads like "CD Collective", followed by "8-Track Collective", followed by "MiniDisc Collective", followed by "Reel 2 Reel Collective", followed by "BluRay Collective", and so on, then we can read everybody's VC rage posts. (Hell, someone started a pretty cool "Steelbook Collective" thread today.") "lololololol this is a vinyl forum gtfo" Edit: I guess I can put it better. I have bought a few things in the S/T/W section, but I hardly ever visit there lately. It's not a section I am particularly interested in, and I could live without it. And, I'm sure there's some people on here who feel the same. So why is there a S/T/W section? Couldn't everyone just accomplish the same thing through eBay/amazon/etc? No, because this is a vinyl board, and people who listen to records want to buy records, and this is a site than can offer that. (Being a community and all.) If enough people who listen to records decide that they enjoy other formats enough to create a space to discuss them away from the vinyl-dominated area, why can't this be a site (or community) that offers that? Those are reissues of 3 of his best releases, so it is a great place to start. The originals routinely go for like $30 and I have seen as high as $60.
