adamlikesmusic
Died this afternoon of a heart attack. Not sure if anyone cares, but I regularly watched Meet The Press, and was pretty sad hearing he died.

adamlikesmusic
He had a heart attack at work. (Not filming) Anyone see Tom Brokaw's "Breaking News" announcement? He looked like he could barely get the words out.
martyk36
man this is really sad news. Tim Russert was a great journalist with a ton of personality, who never let anyone in washington or with the networks get him down. He will be missed. mcm1610
That sucks. Tim Russert was always repping Buffalo nicely. I didn't watch him a ton, but it's shitty he's gone.

The Buffalo Bills released a nice statement about him. In completely unrelated news, my dad is from Buffalo. Cool to see someone on here from there. lokithelion
His book about his dad is one of the most beautiful portraits of fatherhood I've ever read. The fact that it inspired so many people that he was able to put out a second book of peoples responses to it says a lot. I was always impressed at his impartiality in his political coverage, something that is becoming rarer and rarer.

adamlikesmusic
NBC Nightly News tonight was exclusively about him. Dateline NBC will also be. (It amazes me how they're able to create an hour long show on something like this in just a matter of hours.)

Buffalo, for all the bad rap we get for having a shitty economy, really isn't that bad.

I've never heard much about the economy there. I just know my relatives on my dad's side own a mens shop in Buffalo.
