Jaw Floor. Never thought they would deal Kimbrel. Never. It's like dealing Chipper Jones. Quentin supposed to be DFA'ed For sure. Doesn't mean I won't miss him as a player though. I really like Wisler anyway, so to me it's a win. Considering the outfield talent surrounding him currently/what's ready in the organization behind him... it's not that crazy. chamb117 Posted April 6, 2015 Share Posted April 6, 2015 trade makes perfect sense considering it enabled the braves to relieve themselves of melvin's contract. and kimbrel, who was set to command huge money at free agency, netted them some kind of return rather than nothing at all had they waited until the offseason. they probably could've gotten more in return, but it was a pretty good move for a team as deep in its rebuilding process as the braves are. I dont think anyone was going to trade for Kimbrel for only 1 season, he got traded because of the contract. Braves did that contract to make Kimbrel that much more trade-able.
