robotnerd Posted November 30, 2007 Share Posted November 30, 2007 i went to my friend terry's house tonight to buy a guitar pedal off him. i did. we were talking about his home recording setup, and i was telling him a little about how mike kinsella started out with owen, at home in his mom's house, etc. and he was like, "oh, do you have a record player?" and i was like "yeah" and he was like "i should give you this record then." and i was thinking, oh cool, maybe he's got an owen record or something i don't have. and he pulls out OWLS, ON CLEAR BLUE. ... he hands it to me. .... i say "dude, do you want any MONEY for this?" he said, "nah, i don't have a record player, you can just have it, it's just been sitting in the corner." .... let that sink in. .... i say, "do you have any other records i could maybe BUY off you?" he said "yeah, they're mostly newer, but you can look at em." he pulls out a nice stack, long story short, i didn't get them all, but did put together a stack including: Mars Volta - Tremulant Trail of Dead - source tags and codes Small Brown Bike - The River Bed (on wintergreen) Pinback - Summer in Abaddon (signed) Don Cab - American Don 2xLP Drive Like Jehu - s/t Fugazi - Red Medicine Fugazi - The Argument and i said "give me a number..." he said "how about 5 bucks for each one..." ... i said "45 bucks? no, let me give you at least 50 dollars for these. please." he said ok. tonight has been a good night.
