Florian Bertmer has been creating provacative and powerful illustrations for many in the aggressive music community since the late 1990's. He first began illustrating flyers and album art in his native Germany. Later his work came to the public's attention in the States through apparel designs for Converge and Jesuit, often being compared to Pushead in it's unique expressive quality. He even contributed artwork to both Converge releases "Deeper The Wound" and "The Poacher Diaries".

Throughout the years, his work has continued to progress and evolve. Some of his recent projects have included artwork for: Job For A Cowboy, Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, The Hope Conspiracy, Doomriders, Outbreak, and many more.

Continuing on their left hand path with "Abyss", Shipwreck a.d. delve even deeper into that ever-growing dark/apocalyptic artistic vision. In the opening seconds of "Squall" the band unleashes an aural tsunami that builds and crashes with immeasurable hardcore force. Oozing with a dynamic ebb and flow, mid-album standout "Helix" shows their already proven rage receding to a calm before the real sonic storm roars in songs "Lotus", "Erebos", and their epic metallic closer, "Zenith". Climbing to higher musical summits and digging deeper into emotional lows, with "Abyss" they have proven that they are true originals/leaders in the metallic hardcore genre.

"Martyr Immortal" is Pulling Teeth's newest metallic hardcore masterpiece. Twelve songs that conjure the ghosts of classic bands Integrity and Left For Dead all the while adding their own unique spin on the genre. The band even paid homage to these influences by having Jeff Beckman (Left For Dead) create the artwork for the release, while Integrity vocalist/lyricist Dwid Hellion contributed musically to the release. To add even more to their list of A-level contributors, longtime friend and Pig Destroyer guitarist Scott Hull was brought in to master the album. The result is a heavier, meaner, and more abrasive release than anything out there today...

Trap Them are an absolutely brutal metal/hardcore band formed by Ryan McKenney (ex-Backstabbers Inc.) and Brian Izzi (ex-December Wolves). In early 2007, Trap Them released two stunning records on Rhode Island's Trash Art! label, both engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at Godcity Studios. First was their crushing "Self Titled" debut 7"EP. Bringing to mind influences Entombed, Nasum, and even Black Flag, the release was a devastating three song wake up call to the aggressive music community. Just two months later, Trap Them released "Sleepwell Deconstructor", their debut full length on Trash Art!. The album's viciousness is awe inducing, proving that they already deserve to stand among the elite of the extreme metal and hardcore genre.

Easily their heaviest release to date "Seance Prime" was recorded by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at Godcity Studios. "Seance Prime" is a tornado of D-Beat hooks, frantic bursts of speed, and earth shaking dirges. Erasing the line between metal and punk with every unpredictable twist and turn it takes. Once again proving that Trap Them are one of the most relevant and interesting bands in aggressive music scene today.

In what is sure to be a scathing display of ferocity, Avocado Booking is proud to announce the eclectic yet devastating package tour of ROTTEN SOUND, THE OCEAN, VICTIMS and TRAP THEM. In the newest issue of Decibel (Jan 08 issue), Converge members, past and present, discuss the history of the album's creation in great detail, giving some unique insight into this classic album.

Congrats to the band and EVR for this fine accomplishment.

"...Somehow our WERS set has become somewhat of a "cult classic". I think thats cool in some ways because for about a year in my life, one of my goals was to collect all the great WNYU sets, I had so many. The Supertouch and Underdog ones being my two favorites. I remember one in particular that was hard to get was one of the OUTBURST ones. I wasnt even a huge fan of OUTBURST but for some reason it was on my list and I had to get it. Mental was playing cafe metro in Wilkes Barre and Greg had a copy of it. This is well into the 2000s so the next few things that happen are just a true sign of nerdery. Mental wound up staying at a friend of a friends house. My friend Gary lived in wilkes barre and was obviously at the show and the show after the show, so he went back to the house and got some random purple cassete tape that he found in the said house and taped the OUTBURST set. I was so psyched when I got to borrow it to tape it for myself. Which reminds me now that I just wound up keeping that cassete and still have it to this day. If I had a tape player in my apartment I would be finishing this paragraph with "I'm listening to the tape now".

As far as our "kewl radio set" goes, about an hour before we recorded it we played a show at the Cambridge Elks Lodge in Boston. We packed up our gear and merch as soon as the show was over and drove over to the station. We drank tea, ate chips, looked through cds Jen (Brandy Brooklyn) was gonna play for the show, Quickly wrote up a list of some songs to play, went in the room and just played the songs. Some people have asked me if Joe Hardcore was there for this and sung during Eye For An Eye, I can neither confirm or deny. "Everybody, Everywhere, Tear this place DOWWWWWN..."
