melikecheese
Is this an attempt to buy all the Frampton Comes Alive LPs and sell them to a pressing plant for a profit?
thebiglebowski
Is this an attempt to buy all the Frampton Comes Alive LPs and sell them to a pressing plant for a profit? I was more thinking along the lines of what happens when we run out of petroleum, or at least it becomes so expensive that making vinyl is no longer practical. Basically, how high does petroleum have to go for it to be more practical to recycle old, unwanted LPs to make new ones.
xjustinxschwierx
by the time that happens, there will be some polymer manufactured/invented to replace plastic as a whole from renewable resources.
forgeagain
I think I mentioned it before, but in the future, all my records will be pressed on aborted fetuses.

rtw88
I would assume in the future all records will be pressed on chocolate, with variants of white chocolate, or black chocolate with white chocolate splatter, or even 180 g 60% dark chocolate. thebiglebowski
by the time that happens, there will be some polymer manufactured/invented to replace plastic as a whole from renewable resources. I'm no chemist, but I am an engineer. To my knowledge, the non-petroleum plastic-like substances are made out of organic compounds. This means they degrade relatively quickly and would not be interesting to vinyl collectors. They work great for computers and things like that, which we want to degrade in 30 years rather than sitting in a landfill for hundreds of years. Does anyone want to buy vinyl that will turn to dust in 30 years?
