jayeffscene
I've never had an iPod, but I'm thinking about asking for one of these for Christmas. Anybody have one that could throw their 2 cents in? Does the internet browser work well? Are there extra fees for it? How do videos look on it? Any info on why I should/ shouldn't get one would be appreciated. Thanks.
cj
there are no fees for the browser and it works really well. videos look really crisp too and it's pretty easy to get around. the only thing stopping me from getting one is knowing that its going to be 30 or 60 gig within a year or so and i can wait. you wont be disappointed with it though. jayeffscene
There's actually a 32 gig out right now. It's $400.
sgoodcore
I love mine. I use it as a super-mobile computer when I travel. Works great when hotels offer free Wi-Fi. The screen is phenomenal and is said to be even better on the new generation. Paying for big upgrades can be a pain but its only $9.99 and is usually worth the upgrade. There are also some pretty killer free apps. All-in-all a great little device.
Snaggle Von Swift
depends, for me, i don't like them i have a cell phone with the internet and all, so those features don't appeal to me i'd rather pay $249 for a classic and get 120gb than $399 and only get 32gb
swank
I have an iPhone (iPod Touch + Phone) and this shit has changed my life. Last night I rode the bus home watching Dillinger Four interviews on YouTube.
kirbypuckett
I have an iPhone (iPod Touch + Phone) and this shit has changed my life. Real talk! Also, to use the webz on an iPod Touch you have to be in a Wifi zone. Don't know if you knew that or not.
tim
I love my 16 gig Touch. It's not a ton of space, but if I keep it pruned so it only has music I'm currently listening to, it's fine and it leaves lots of room for videos and games. Also works better for shuffle mode too if there's not tons of stuff I don't want to hear. I hope to get another year or so of life out of it, and then it's time to move towards an iPhone. ericxthexred
i was thinking about getting my gf one of these for xmas... she doesnt need 4billion gigs of space for music and i think the fancy features on it would be really cool for her. i'm still on the fence tho... cuz why not just get an iphone if you're getting an ipod touch? really? geezfools
They're great, one thing to keep in mind, if you plan to jailbreak them and do cool things with them outside of the regular already great things, the newest ipod touch is still un-jailbreakable as far as I know. The first version you can jailbreak, 2G, can't. Just a word of advice if you want to hack it.

As far as the Touch vs. the Phone, well if you're on AT&T the phone would be the way to go, if not then you have to change carriers.

While the edge net connection isn't quite fast. I can still get online and do what I need to do. I love when I can catch a wifi connection. adamlikesmusic
I absolutely love my touch. Has saved me so many times on records going on sale when I'm in class. (Many FAT orders, Gaslight Anthem demos/'59 Sound, my share of the Co-Op, etc) Mine's over a year old, and still flawless. Screen is immaculate, and I haven't had any real problems otherwise. My only problem is mine is completely full, though that's what I get for cheaping out and going for the 8gb.
brad
am really thinking about getting an iphone in a few months but the google phone looks sweet as hell as well...
cosmonaut
The iphone is the greatest thing ever. I've never used an ipod touch, but I think the functionality is basically the same as the iphone. I don't like using the iphone for my ipod because I prefer tactile controls. I like to be able to mess with it without taking it out of my pocket.

Haven't really heard great things about the T-Mobile version of the Google Phone.
partysmasher
i have an iphone and im so happy with it. It's only 8gb but i make sure there's not a bunch of stuff on there that i'll never listen to so it's all good. Cuts down on how much stuff i have in my pockets on my way to work which is nice. decibel120
LOVE my iPhone, but be VERY careful using DATA roaming with it. I am in Paris, and I used 3G web for maybe 20-30 minutes, and I'm looking at over $200 just for that... It's like $30 a MEGABYTE. INSANITY. If you hook into a WIFI network, it's all good and free though, just be careful.
