Brandon worked hard all weekend and is awaiting a shipment of notebooks to complete the rest which shoudl be here by week's end. Let me just say that they all look absolutely amazing and know that we will continue to make them during the new year. That being said though, please understand that we do not feel right about making notebooks out of perfectly fine records. We have had a few requests for them, and we just don't think like the idea of destroying a perfectly good piece of wax for the sake of having a notebook. We will only turn damaged/warped vinyl into notebooks and from time to time, we will post them for sale. Thanks everyone for your enthusiasm on the notebooks. The two biggest problems I think I'll run into with this is finding the best way to cut it (i'd just use a jig saw but i kind of dont have access to one) and also, keeping the vinyl itself from getting scratched to shit. This was an experiment and now we have a use for our warped/damaged vinyl. We won't have any more this year, but we will have more in 2009. those of you curious how we did it, we didn't research the best way to do it, brandon just winged it. He purchased a hot knife that melts as it cuts and that made a lot of difference in making the cuts. There is a lot of work that goes into each one.
