cadetapplesauce
yep. you gotta take the elevator though. the doors for it are painted with like a teleport type thing and a silhouette of a guy standing in it.

scottheisel
If your time is limited, just go to Amoeba and Rasputin in Berkeley, they're on the same block so you can hit up both back to back.
burntwolf
I like the amoeba records in berkeley the best. I ve found some sweet stuff there. i think that one has the gone the most downhill in the last several years. the LA one is the best imo. SF after that. there is art's record shack or something in san jose. i need to make it down there. and streetlight in san jose. still haven't made it there either. red devil records is in san rafael. pretty price though. he does a lot of ebay. saturn records is now a thrift store? i was like wtf last time i went in there. is mission records still there? neurosis138
it's a mission of mine to make it down to amoeba in LA. I was expecting great things from Amoeba in LA, but I didn't find much. I did pick up a sealed copy of the MRR turn it around 2x7" though. Awesome set! -Chris
burntwolf
i didn't say it was all bad. i've been going there for 15+ years now, so sun's gotta shine on a dog's ass every once in a while. i think it was just more awesome in my memories when i first started going there too. but, it did have a severe decline (ha, no pun intended) and is now picking back up. that was just a random score of all scores. i find cool stuff i actually want in SF or LA. but i do go to berkeley amoeba once a week. i only chk rasputin's once every couple months. googlemyass
yeah from what ive seen, if you want good deals and good finds, ameoba is your best bet.
thischarmingham
saturn records is now a thrift store? i was like wtf last time i went in there. is mission records still there? Yeah Saturn is just doing ebay out of the upper level of that place. I actually picked up an LP bin of his for a store I'm opening in a week or so on 40th in Oakland. Mission Records is looooooooooong gone. I miss that place. Every now and again there'd be some really crucial used records for really cheap and they had tour versions of practically everything new since bands would play there. Awesome place to see a show too. I fully approve of record stores you can drink 40's in.
