lokithelion
1. That Thing You Do - Perfect combo of music, plot, old school love story, and comedy. So many quotable lines. 2. The Adventures of Robin Hood - Errol Flynn stars, this flick is simply magical. Great sword fights, great archery contest, awesome sets, great fun. This is actually available for streaming on netflix and if it doesn't make you feel twelve you're too cynical. 3. Princess Bride - Same reasons I love That Thing You Do, minus music 4. Videodrome - Cronenberg is my favorite director, and this is his best film. 5. Let the Right One In - It might be too new to be on this list, but I think I've watched it ten times already this year and I always get a kick out of it when I see it. Might be the perfect horror film.
thesupervillain
Also, does anyone else love Airheads? I could watch that movie 3 times in a row. GUILTY PLEASURE! "I ain't fartin' on no snare drum!" Airheads is definitely one pf my top 3 comedies of all time. Fraser, Sandler and Buscemi are hilarious together. My top 5 (without spending an entire day trying to think about it) 1. Forrest Gump 2. Saving Private Ryan 3. Back To The Future 4. Chasing Amy 5. City Of God

lokithelion
will directors suffice? i love every movie these five men have made.joel cohen hideaki anno luc besson david cronenberg john carpenter I have a hard time believing anyone can love Naked Lunch or Escape From LA (I can understand enjoying EFLA because it is so laughable awful - a la The Long Kiss Goodnight). Fucking typewriters and shit. You are nuts. Cronenberg rules. Carpenter is hit or miss but when dude is on he rules. Also if you even slightly take EFNY seriously you missed the point.
