I keep getting told that I should check out Miss Spektor's music. I heard a few songs and they sound nice, but I just haven't delved forth. And I must admit, every time I hear her name or read about her, I pronounce her name like the Canadian city (which happens to rhyme with vagina). Hopefully I am the only one who does that.

Vinyl is expected around the middle of August.

Good albums. the new one has some ups and downs. It's definitely more middle of the road than her older stuff but not bad. I still like "Begin to Hope" more.

she's really good. some songs on her albums kind of catch you off guard, at first, but they're really really good. her first two self released albums are pretty much full of songs that are just odd.

Which is amazing, because I looked for a copy of this a few weeks ago and was priced waaaaay out.

IMO, Begin to Hope is her best...maybe I'm just saying this because it was the first thing I've heard from her.

Found a sealed copy of this record in Montreal for $25 CAD three years ago...

I've had the OP Soviet Kitsch for years and it's amazing.
I wish they'd issue Songs and 11:11.
I much prefer her solo and accompanied by double bass style stuff.

I second these 2 and Maryann meets the gravediggers. I have all the others and I'm only missing 2 vinyl singles (your honour and the flowers & carbon monoxide). I wish she'd make some new music already
