The threesome idea was so bad (but I guess that's the point). Anyhow, one of Smith's better movies and it makes me sad that he's so awful now. swank Posted July 24, 2009 Share Posted July 24, 2009 I absolutely love this movie, and I think it's Kevin Smiths best (though I celebrate his entire catalog, minus Jersey Girl). I'd advise those of you that like it to never see it with a crowd. I had an interesting experience earlier this year with that. A local theatre here had "Kevin Smith Fest" over 3 nights where they played all the "Askewneverse" movies, and he did a Q&A after each one. It was a lot of fun, but Chasing Amy was a bummer, because any time there was a tense, serious, or heartfelt moment in the movie, stupid motherfuckers would start laughing. It's like they only showed up for "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and their brains just couldn't handle anything that wasn't about weed or dicks.
