skanknsmile
I know this has probably been asked before, but I'm about to drop the cash for it and I just want to ask, How many records does the 2x4 one hold, approximately? Thanks

thestigmachine
Yeah, I've filled up just a little bit more than half of it, and I have 330 10"s and 12"s
negicore
Along the lines of this, does anyone bracket them to the wall like they suggest? I don't, and it seems fine to me. Just curious....

I have the 4x4 and all but 3 cubbys are filled with records and a bunch of stuff sitting on top so Im not too worried about it falling over at any point. I have no idea if it's really something I should be worried about but I am able to drill into my walls so I figured better safe than sorry. llamason56
i have it just sitting on the floor and have a 32" lcd sitting on the top and its been fine
vinylme
I have one standing and one on its side. I have a 40 inch lcd sitting on top of the one on its side and 150 - 200 7in in a travel box on top of the one standing up. I have both mounted to the wall because I live in cali and I have to think about earthquakes. I think if an expedit is assembled properly it would be fine without the wall mounts. adamlikesmusic
I have a 4x4, against the wall, not mounted. If you try and keep heavier things on the bottom, you should be fine.

troymess
I just got an expedit, a 4x4 square one...someday, I may decide to get a little larger one. This one works well for me now...
impact
the 2x4's are stackable
xrecordx
did you screw them together or just put the one expedit on the other one....?
akross
We got a 5x5 with the desk attachment and we anchored it. Such a damn pain in the ass to build, but awesome to have.
syr667
yeah, the 5x5 i helped my friend put together was a pain. the 4x4 that i have i've had to take apart to move a couple times, but it's pretty easy. i think w the desk attachment though, wall anchoring is probably much less crucial. also, plastic milk crates. they fit really nicely in the expedit an are super versatile, except for 12". Having taken one apart a few times is it still as sturdy as it once was? I've heard some people complain but then other say it was fine. I bought one that was put together, took it apart and am about to reassemble it soon.
syr667
yeah, mine has been disassembled thrice, so assembled four times total. i think the trick is to not strip the screws. ive also been known to move it around while assembled and it holds up great. on a 5x5 it might be different as the support pegs are much smaller, but they are doubled up. is this supposed to be better? i cant tell.
