mediocore
"Arrested Development" is clearly the correct answer. (Mostly because "The Simpsons" hasn't been relevant in the 2000s...)

flicker
dudes, if 30 rock can keep up the quality for another couple seasons, i can see it overtaking AD as my favorite sitcom. sure 30 rock is not as dense, but that makes it so much easier to just hop in and out of. AD is almost like one long awesome movie.

burdenx
i wouldn't lump futurama or the simpsons into this category. American? Check. Sitcom? Pretty much definitively. Last decade? Yep. Don't see a problem.
Duff
they're animated. i wouldn't put anything animated against anything that's not animated.
lokithelion
but only because Friends doesn't really count in the last ten years, even though it only ended in 2004. I will always love that series and my wife for getting me into it. There was an honestly brilliant writing crew behind that show. i defy anyone to watch the prom episode and not get misty. I disagree but I also thought Wall-E should've won the oscar for best picture, what do I know? I'm surprised IASIP isn't doing better. controlthebleeding
Arrested Development. But where is my How I Met Your Mother option?! How I met Your Mother is a pretty damn good show. I love Big Bang Theory too but it hasn't been around long enough. As far as Scrubs.. Scrubs has kinda gone down hill since season 5. Since then it's kinda been "hit or miss". If Burn Notice can go another 2 or 3 seasons at the rate it's going it definitely will be one of my favs.
