robotnerd
*RING RING* "Hello?" "Hey polyvinyl this is mike kinsella" "hey mike! how's the new owen record coming along?" cactusbot
Definitely not up to par with his previous albums.
monk0nuggets
I've only listened to it as background music so far. Though it didn't sound bad. We'll see.
flicker
i like it. it's classic Owen. great lyrics, pretty guitars, but it all sounds the same...good.
cactusbot
See, I don't think the lyrics are as good as previous albums. And that is bad because the lyrics are very important to his songwriting, they really drive the songs.

dialoguefromamovie
i like it much better than at home with...the lyrics aren't quite as good, but i get a (the ep) vibe from the music.

jhog3411
I haven't gotten around to listening to this yet. I have all of his previous stuff, but he is starting to get stale to me. The songs are starting to all blur together and sound the same. Especially live, to me he has gotten less fresh (not sure if that's the right word). Maybe if he could draw enough to bring a band out it might make the songs better. I am not excited to hear this like I was when At Home came out. Will give it a chance this week. scottheisel
He's doing his first-ever full-band shows in Chicago this Friday. Hopefully he'll realize that's what people want and will take them out on the road for a little bit.
adammuzzy
this record sucks i guess owen has it's time and place. like when you're 16 and feel like feeling quasi-depressed.
gravitylovesdrunks
haven't given it a close listen yet, but surprised at this response. flicker's right about it all sounding the same, but that's okay when it's awesome. ugly on the inside is a great song. flicker
i like Owen's sound. when i feel like listening to owen, its because i want to hear that style of music. when your core is so good, its alright if you stay pretty close to it. there are tons of bands out there that could never stick to the same formula in the same way. Owen pulls it off because mike is a great musician.
