Local/unheard of bands that go under the radar

this band that used to be around atlanta called "a small victory". they put out a demo ep called "better late than never" which was killer. they got signed to lobster and then put out a ep and a full length and toured a whole lot and never caught on. they were good pop-punk and tons of fun. they eventually pretty much became a rock and roll band. tons of fun. i credit them for pulling me out of the whole art/skate scene and stepping back into punk rock, slowly but surely.

The first one that comes to mind for me is Giuseppe. They were an awesome posthardcore band that was around for years, and it seems like only the same 3 people went to all of their shows. The unfortunately broke up recently because their drummer moved away for school. The first 3 songs on their myspace are some of the best.

These guys were on fearless and were a sweet pop-punk band. My first local show was seeing them at a knights of Columbus. Most the members went on to join other acts, but the lead guitarist and vocalist got into hardcore drugs and metal.

kevin, i just saw them open for alkaline trio may 23 in poplar grove. they put on a really good set. the bass player was a ton of fun to watch. i'm pretty sure scott heisel is friends with one (if not more) of the members.

at the show they were talking about how they were about to release a new record and how they had a bunch of stuff streaming for free on their website. so unless something really strange has happened in the past 4 months, they're definitely still active.

Jeff Pagliocca (of John Brown Battery fame) was the bass player of this band. they were about to make it big and sign to a major label when they broke up. they were seriously awesome. sooo much fun to see live. they had a 10-song cd and about a year later followed up with a 6-song cd (3 were re-recorded versions of the original 10, 3 were new). both of those cds are still in my rotation, and i listen to them at least once a month each.
