xlovecolouredx
good news. their last albums is in major label but sony music thailand doesn't care about this release and vagrant doesn't has any distributor in thailand. it's good time for the trio fan at here too.... xxmartinxx
I've always had a like/hate relationship with Alkaline Trio. I find "Good Mourning" to be the most palatable, but I find their lyrics to be fucking lame. Maybe because I'm not a 15 year old goth girl who's waiting online to get advance tickets to see the newest Twilight movie, I dunno. Too cheesy. flood
have you even heard the albums prior to good mourning? some pretty great songwriting on the "pre-goth" records
sgoodcore
Not fucking cheesy: Choking on the thought of leaving Drinking to keep from sobbing Four PM, four dollar pints At SFO, the time and price With all my happiness aborted The PA painfully starts boarding I sink deep thirty thousand feet Into my window seat... electric chair And I was drinking you goodbye My heart floats in the bay From sour home Chicago I hear it beating far away There's no telling what I'll do If I don't return to you Hopeful thoughts of soon returning Can't put out my stomach burning Plastic wings and plastic smiles And salted peanuts to stretch my mile Choking on the thought of leaving Drinking to keep from heaving Five PM, five dollar pints Hellbound Airlines, time and price And I was drinking you goodbye My heart floats in the bay From sour home Chicago I hear it beating far away There's no telling what I'll do If I don't return to you I was drinking you goodbye My heart floats in the bay From sour home Chicago I hear it beating far away There's no telling what I'll do If I don't return to you
xxmartinxx
Flood - I've heard them all. Sam - They're awfully melodramatic.
sgoodcore
Flood - I've heard them all.Sam - They're awfully melodramatic. Honestly, what songs don't have a tinge of melodrama when you're talking about a girl?
xxmartinxx
Flood - I've heard them all.Sam - They're awfully melodramatic. Honestly, what songs don't have a tinge of melodrama when you're talking about a girl? True. Somehow the goth elements rub me the wrong way, though. It sorta feels forced. The melodrama of a band like Rites of Spring seems way more sincere to me. I mean, I like them but sometimes I just feel a little silly when I focus too much on the words. Same can be said for a lot of bands, I suppose.

lechevre
The real question is, where in the holy hell is danthemjfan right now? Dude, are you out there? He is without interwebz right now. He checks his email occasionally (I think). He will return texts...
riddle350
I wonder if their first tour will be with Off With Their Heads? ??? ??? ??? Alk3/OWTH/Frank turner = a whole lot better than alot of their recent tours holy fuck where did you hear this?
theambulancereview
Dan moved into a new apartment and doesn't have the interwebz. And he's busy writing songs on his new guitar.
leerobert
Looking forward to this, won't take much to top their last album. Pains me to say that too, because I love Alk3, but seriously, I felt Agony & Irony was a turd
musicinveins11
i think crimson is the best cd they released followed by infirmary and mourning but the last album wasnt up to snuff . i never have and never will really like goddammit and most of catch fire as they sound so dull to me . as far as epitaph goes i agree with tellyourfriends as it seems they have many of my favorite band signed although i wish they would stop signing trendy horrible bands as well that suck . drabley
Alkaline Who? Didn't they release an okay record in the late 90's or something? They still around? Is this some kind of alt-cousti-folk-cana-try record?
skumbucket
Maybe with some folks, but that's not how I listen to music. I judge by the now, not what they used to be. I tend to welcome change in bands as a means of switching things up. That being said, I found Crimson and whatever the last album was titled to be absolute garbage. Ok, fair enough, I trust you're being honest but I would hold the following songs are good rock songs: 1) Calling All Skeletons 2) Help Me 3) In Vein 4) Over and Out 5) Smoke 6) I Was A Prayer 7) Mercy Me 8) Burn 9) Time to Waste All solid, for me, a huge Trio fan. All are even better live I totally agree on principle sam; i really like Crimson. I'd swap out 'over and out' and 'in vein' with 'i found away' and 'do you wanna know?' though. skumbucket
and i can't believe anyone would prefer 'agony and irony' over ANYTHING. i'd rather get dickslapped than listen to some of the epic turds on that album. there are a couple of matt's biggest bombs on that album, one or two of them in the exalted first half. I deleted all but six songs from the record off my itunes, and that includes the two b-sides.
googlemyass
according to brendan kelly, its worse than A&I

scottheisel
I got to hear five songs (including the two they've been playing live). They sound pretty decent. Skiba's still singing about graveyards and shit.
