kirbypuckett
I'll believe it when I hear it. I fully expect it to be garbage like the last few records though.
casey
I can't believe they mentioned Neutral Milk Hotel in a write-up of Alk3. Equal chance of this being awesome/disastrous.

kyle
Didn't they say this after Crimson? Exactly what I was going to say. I actually enjoyed Crimson when it came out, even though it was a change in style, but that last record was total garbage.
flood
Epitaph = Best label? if this was 1995 then yes. currently they just seem to make bad signings chasing dying trends, and then sign obvious bands that have fallen from major labels. have them make some calculated decisions and toss some money at young deserving bands like they used to
sgoodcore
I'll believe it when I hear it. I fully expect it to be garbage like the last few records though. I'd say garbage is a harsh descriptor. Without a past to compare to, the records they released would be better received as they were not nearly as bad as people make them out to be. I think people who know the older records just want them to write and record the same sound/record over and over, and obviously they didnt do that. xfedupx
"This record is a rock record but our punk rock upbringing definitely shines through, more so than our last few records" Rock record...again? How about making a punk record again?

How about making a punk record again? I'd honestly prefer a rock record and I'm not sure they ever did more than write some punk songs. I'm just tired of the over production, the million guitars, and the unnecessary guitar effects. If those went away I'd enjoy the records more. One Hundred Fifty-Two
I guess it is just most of my favorite bands have put out stuff on epitaph. Thursday, New Found Glory, Bad Religion, NOFX, Refused, Alkaline Trio, Motion City Soundtrack, Frank Turner, Set Your Goals, Rancid, DangerDoom, Dropkick Murphys, Matchbook Romance, Elliot Smith, Converge, Pennywise, Transplants, Bouncing Souls, Millencolin, H20, Offspring, Every Time I Die, The Matches, Heavens, and Descendents. tonyregret
Skiba also said in another interview that the album channels bands like Pegboy and Screeching Weasel. Definitely have high hopes for this album

Maybe with some folks, but that's not how I listen to music. I judge by the now, not what they used to be. I tend to welcome change in bands as a means of switching things up. That being said, I found Crimson and whatever the last album was titled to be absolute garbage.
