oakland
Grunge would be nice. My pants keep tearing in the knees anyway, and I still wear a lot of flannel.

Fake problems-ish band Ska was HUGE in '96-'98. And it's totally making a comeback now, too -- that Less Than Jake/Reel Big Fish tour recently played the Congress Theatre in Chicago and I believe it was sold out -- that's over 3000 people! flood
coming from CT... ska-punk was HUGE in the mid to late 90's. Like crappy local shows were drawing 1-300, bigger locals and regionals were packing clubs... hell the skatalites were doing 1000. and the bosstones reunion is happening. i have heard confirmations from many unrelated sources

scottheisel
For the record, Bosstones is not the reunion I'm sitting on -- shit, that's the worst-kept secret in ska right now. Big D And The Kids Table have big mouths.

matt
id be cool with ska/punk revival once more but i dont see that happening. at least over here it seems unlikely, people are still tired of ska after the huge oc ska phase from the 90s. the only ska bands that draw out here are rbf and streetlight. even the less than jake shows have undersold as of late. big d, mustard plug, buck o nine, etc dont do too well over here. jhulud
Same here in Florida...there are barely any ska punk shows at all...I think it was earlier this year, but the Catch-22 show was practically dead...barely anyone there... matt
if the ska boom was going to hit again over here i think it would have been in 03? when the first ska summit happened in vegas it looked like it was on the rise once more but only about a year after it dwindled to nearly nothing.
