jasonskanks
Going there for work next week, any suggestions on things to do? I know that sounds dumb with it being Vegas. Any good record stores? Recommendations of places to eat/ not eat? Good comedy clubs? I had the work put me up at Treasure Island and I even had them pay for strip view rooms (they don't know that though, it was an extra $60 per night per room.) I would like to make the most of the trip.
chiefwahoo
Going there for work today myself, wouldn't mind some different things to do since I don't gamble and have already been there three times before.
tylerrr
well the only independent record store we have is "Zia records" its pretty cool they've vastly updated their vinyl selection over the past year. um good places to eat by the strip... hmm there's a few good "gourmet" burger places around. try to catch the fountain show at the bellagio, you can go to a few exhibitions like (bodies, the titanic and the shark reef) check out the house of blues in the mandalay bay for possible shows. other than that i cant really think of much else... thrill rides i guess... bars... cliche vegas stuff is'nt always bad either. cactusbot
Definitely eat at In-N-Out. Le Rêve at the Wynn was an awesome show that I totally recommend seeing.

Zias are hit or miss. Haven't been to the Vegas location in a while, so I can't vouch for it presently. All the locations in Phoenix are pretty "meh" in regards to records, though down in Tucson I've found some really good stuff. Have found some really "rare" CDs there, though, which is always nice. struckanerve
Check out the City Center. It's the new hotel(s) that opened in January, it's fairly ridiculous as far as layout, nothing like the other hotels. If not for anything else, they have this wall of at least 10 Walken photos like this

voodooman595
My suggestion for Vegas is having a few drinks and walking around absorbing the sights and different designs of the casinos. Gambling is a joke. It's a straight loss. I didn't even get served drinks. Also, collect some hooker cards. Also the Pirates of TI show is pretty badass. The exhibits at the Luxor are mighty interesting too.
hickey
I go to Vegas two or three times a year. There are/were a handful of record stores, but most of them were grossly overpriced and a ways off the strip (I just used the yellow pages and called them all). I don't think I made it to Zia. For food, it depends on your budget. I usually eat on the cheap there. Go for In-N-Out. I really like having crepes at Paris for some reason. There are a lot of exhibits/shows you can check out, but most are pretty expensive. I've seen a few of the Cirque du Soliel (sp?) shows and they were all great. Spamalot was a blast. In the interest of full disclosure, I've always been tempted to see Carrot Top's show at Luxor despite my hatred for him...I've heard nothing but great things about his act. There's plenty to do there, you just have to be up for it and have some cash.
jasonskanks
Food expense in not an issue, work pays for that. When we went to Chicago we had a $300 bill from Morton's for 2 people.
