TFP
Hey guys, I won a record on eBay on Thursday night. I was able to win it for $31 and $4 s/h. And I would say this record goes for at least $50 most of the time. Now the guy writes and says not to send the money because he was going through the records he was selling before he mails them out and noticed a crack. I am thinking he was disappointed about the winning price. So I think I will ask him for a photo of the crack. What do you guys think? desensitizedbyu
Definitely ask for proof.
adamlikesmusic
Yeah, ask for a picture. I've had a few things go for underwhelming prices, but that's a risk you take if you don't set a reserve.
TFP
look what he just sent me... "if you want the record still i will be happy to send it to you bro. i was informing you about the crack/chip for your own good. I'm not going to go out of my way to to send you pictures just so you can see how bad Lp is cracked for you to decide if you still want it or not. its not worth my time. if you want the Lp in the condition that it is in i would be glad to send it to you. If you do not care about the Lp's condition i'm fine with it just send payment and i will send the record" I would say it's worth his time. I am the buyer! adamlikesmusic
How does his feedback look? I'd agree that it's worth his time. Perhaps I'm being negative, but I keep imagining him sitting there, and as soon as you send money, he will purposely crack the record and then send it. Just because he's bitter about the price. (I'd like to think people are more mature than that, but he sounds like a doucher)
TFP
I wrote this in reply: "I would like to please request a picture because you did not disclose that there was cosmetic damage that could possibly affect play. If I see the pic and I think that it is ok then I will purchase the record and feedback will be left, and everyone is happy. Do you have a digital camera - then it is easy for the pic, and I would say that it is worth your time because I am the buyer and Feedback is on the line. So in closing I am simply asking for a picture of the damaged record(s)."
desensitizedbyu
That's a good response, bro.

TFP
I'm chatting with eBay and they can't make him send a photo. But I can report him and leave bad feed back.
desensitizedbyu
Wait for a response from him. Could he still get his money back if it's cracked and it didn't say so in the listing, but he told him in a message?
desensitizedbyu
Also, post the listing!
TFP
Here is the listing - don't laugh I already bought this album for myself, I was buying this one for my brother, because this is his favorite Incubus album. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300426593241&ru=http://shop.ebay.com:80/%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D300426593241%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories %26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_500wt_1182 And, eBay said I could buy it and if it is indeed broken I can file a claim because he didn't list that in the description. Too much work, I just want a photo of the damage.
rtw88
I'd just give up dude. I don't really see this working out in your favor.
TFP
I feel like I didn't have a threatening tone... here is what he said, my brother and I think this is total BS: "my friend took that pic of the record for me bro. I don't have a camera but the crack is on the first Lp. I think maybe the record had been dropped. the chip on the outer rim of the record leads into a crack within half of the side. i did not disclose the condition of the record is because honestly i did not know about it. I don't play records i just kinda have them because i download music and don't buy cd's. I don't get why you would threaten me with feedback because i feel i did you a favor in telling you what i had discovered. no money has exchanged hands and i was just being honest. I'm just as disappointed in this discovery as you are. i will try my best to get pictures of the Lp but i cannot promise you anything. Sorry for all the trouble but in all honesty I am doing you a favor by revealing the information about a damaged item before i even sold it to you." I am going to to tell him there is no rush for the photo.
controlthebleeding
It's not worth the time, but make sure to make a leave feedback in neutral manner and that seller said there was a crack, and check to see if he tries relisting it. if not, then he was being truthful. if he does you can then contact ebay and go from there. daniel
Buy it anyway and if there's a crack put it on eBay and rip someone else off. It's the only way.

adamlikesmusic
For what it's worth (very little), that's the only Incubus album I ever remotely liked.

alertthemute
I don't see the problem with buying it, then asking for your money back if it is actually cracked. It doesn't matter if he tells you that its cracked in a message, he needs to list that shit in the auction.

It doesn't matter if he tells you that its cracked in a message, he needs to list that shit in the auction. yea but what are the chances the guy actually sends him the record not cracked? even if he is lying, if he decides to buy it the seller will have to crack it himself, otherwise he'd be caught in a lie. kouka
i love the relationship between this being an Incubus record and the seller's constant use of the word "bro".

TFP
Check this out - the plot thickens: He had Morning View up back in April (Because I watched it), then he had it up again along with the Crow Left of the Murder I won. And now Morning View was back up AGAIN! Check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300427993714&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNARL:US:1123#ht_500wt_1154 No bids? He ended it.
