baldsteve
Ordered this. This era of Samiam is in my wheelhouse. Any other era....no chance. You don't like any other SAMIAM? I think they just got better over the years (and I think The Bridge from the S/T is one of the best songs ever recorded)
chiefwahoo
I didn't catch the meanings behind the color breakdowns before, that's a new one. This strictly-limited UK vinyl pressing comes on two different variants, both of which are derived from the band's previous vinyl releases: 2x12"s 'SamStray' split colour -"Samiam" LP originally pressed by New Red Archives on Transparent Purple -"Astray" LP originally pressed by Hopeless Records on Solid White 2x12"s 'ClumDown' splatter wax -"Clumsy" LP originally pressed by Bitzcore Recs on Transparent Red -"Whatever's Got You Down" LP originally pressed by Hopeless Records on Yellow Splatter They gave a little homage to the prior colors that Samiam records were pressed in. That's all they were saying. Yeah, I was just saying that I didn't notice it previously.
forgeagain
Nope. Old NRA-era stuff was bland and boring. Band wasn't the same with all the newjacks. I think what did it for me was the time I saw them at the Fireside when they played for, no joke, 90 minutes. Ugh.
themean
This band hit their peak with album #2. I'll still pick this up, though.
wakeupandlive
Came home to a surprise yesterday. My roommate brought it home for me from the office. The gatefold jacket is so nice, and the records look great.
bathroommonkey
sweet, i can't wait to get that. mostly cause I put in a larger than normal drunken order on night, so whenever that shows up it's pretty much like an early chirstmas. from me to me. oakland
The music on Orphan Works is just so so. I can see why these songs never made it onto a record before. Not even close to the awesomeness this band was capable in its heyday.
xxmartinxx
Nope. Old NRA-era stuff was bland and boring. Band wasn't the same with all the newjacks. I think what did it for me was the time I saw them at the Fireside when they played for, no joke, 90 minutes. Ugh. What? Are you crazy? The only questionable Samiam release on NRA was "Soar" and the 10". The self titled record with the "Underground" EP on it still blows me away 20 years after first hearing it.
