rhinoceric
Not certain whether or not this has been posted yet, but the National's first two albums are being put onto vinyl format. I have never heard this band mentioned on this place though so maybe I am the only one stoked. thousandjulys
you can order sad songs directly from the label now http://store.brassland.org/products/hwy-003-sad-songs-for-dirty-lovers-by-the-national-lp $18ppd
timsimmons
The SSFDL being sold at Brassland now is a new pressing in leftover jackets from the OP. But there are some differences. The OP of SSFDL did not include the track Fashion Coat (its not on the LP or the sleeve). This new pressing includes the track Fashion Coat. but because they are using leftover jackets from the OP, its not listed on the sleeve. I assume the new reissues (out this July) will be new jackets with the complete tracklisting and most likely this new pressing (Which sounds fantastic). Also, its great s/t is getting a new pressing. Lets hope they reissue Boxer and Alligator too and do it up nice like HV.

gmoney
From Brassland's twitter: New pressing of @The_National's Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers arrived in the office today. White vinyl! On sale soon... Details to come. And then: @The_National's s/t on vinyl is supposed to arrive this week as well. A bit delayed because of an issue w/ the test pressing. And also: @The_National's Cherry Tree is due in the fall. We're hoping to arrange something super special for that one.
scotterson
Super excited for cherry tree. Will probably get the other two eventually.

kidamnesiac
There was a fairly lengthy thread concerning High Violet back when it was released. The National are not unknown on this board. I believe we also discussed the repress of SSFDL in that thread, too. But no worries. This is still great news!
vedant
got the repress of SSFDL on white, thanks for the heads up!
gmoney
anyone listen to boxer or alligator on vinyl? i thought about picking them up now to complete a national lp set, but i heard they didn't sound too great.
birdwell
I would love to own Alligator and Boxer on vinyl as well...but I've also heard they sound poor. Mr. November as a closer is pretty rockin...so I'd imagine that close to the center label on my crappy table is gonna sound like straight garbage
thousandjulys
i think alligator sounds great. just spun it loud last night. it's only around 11 or 12 bucks. you really cant go wrong.
gumbercules
i haven't listened to alligator since my last turntable. boxer, however, i listened to last week and, yeah, not so hot. very muddy, no range.
