hickey
I'm going to say Against Me! - New Wave was my favorite rock album. It's by no means a punk album, as compared to their others. It's a solid, straight-up rock record. There were a few weak tracks, but the strong ones (Up The Cuts, Piss And Vinegar, The Ocean) make up for it. jhulud
Although it may be considered 'indie-rock', I will cast my vote for Minus the Bear "Planet of Ice"....what a wonderful record. It has so many elements to the music that each and every time I listen to it (and I do quite often), I find some new nuance or texture. It's definitely one of the more prominent release of the year for me...

flatlinemole
the most anticipated album for myself was no world for tomorrow - Coheed. but my favourite was Come now, sleep - As Cities Burn.
kurtmanner
Weakerthans - Reunion Tour I figured this fit best in this category and it needed to go somewhere.

CNS was a decent record but not NEARLY as good as Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest.
Guest scriptedrain
Minus the Bear - Planet of Ice and Pinback - Autumn of the Seraphs. I've been kinda flipping back and forth on these for my favorite album of the year.

salparadise
Crime In Stereo - ...Is Dead. Why? Because it's just so good, compared to everything else that came out this year. It's not a punk or hardcore record at all, it just flows and makes me feel awesome. Runner up was: Paramore - Riot!

It is not an awesome Against Me! album, but it is an awesome rock album.
