mclz Posted February 21, 2011 Author Share Posted February 21, 2011 Can you explain why that's a bad thing? They're responsible for every ugly splatter record, and their records sound like ASS. I don't know how anyone can say otherwise, every colored Pirate's record I own has a very noticeable amount of surface noise. My half red/half black Austin Lucas LP goes from [nothing....] to HISSSSSSSS in the space between songs when the needle hits the red half. Oh, and their labels look like they're printed using the inkjet printer you get for free with a computer. Basically, they put form over function, and the forms they put it in are ugly. A record pressed at Bill Smith or Gotta Groove or most any domestic plant will look and sound better. I don't even like the look of their black vinyl. We’ll break it down here for those of you who don’t bother reading the album descriptions before ordering. In addition to the convenient but totally uncool compact disc, there are 2 Black vinyl options. The more expensive one is limited and has a gatefold jacket. The cheaper one doesn’t, obviously. There is a limited color vinyl option only available through our website. There is an even more limited picture disc available through fatwreck.com as well as the Screeching Weasel webstore. There’s also a limited edition First World Manifesto t-shirt, and if you pre-order it with any format of the album, it’s only $10. Yeah we know it’s a lot to swallow but think about us for once, who do you think sorted and organized all this stuff when it arrived at FAT HQ?
