PO: Fireworks - "Gospel" LP

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Glad you like the Uk variations...

Every "Coke Bottle Green" I see is sooo different, it's a little bit brighter than I was expecting...this is semi-transparent and looks really different when it's not on a white background / up to the light.

I've ordered "coke bottle clear" so many places ad they all say they can't do it...i'd love to know a place that definitely can!

As for the White / Clear split...well the pressing plant took White to mean Grey and they've come back Grey / Clear. Still look good though!

Even though they've been selling pretty well we still expect to have them in stock for a while yet so don't sweat it too much!

Gospel > Suburbia

I think the existence of this record is one of the big reasons why I'm disappointed in Suburbia. Fireworks completely reinvented themselves, and put together an awesome album that sounds nothing like what anyone expected. This album raised the bar for what "pop-punk" bands should be able to accomplish, and TWY fall incredibly short of it. Their record is just more of what we have been hearing in this genre for years.

I feel the exact same way. Because this album was so different, it actually made me appreciate "All I Have To Offer..." more for what it was, and because this was such a step in a different direction (not necessarily a better or worse direction, but definitely different) on top of being one of the catchiest albums I've heard in a long time, it's taken my #1 spot for the year so far. Still waiting on the new BTMI though, which is going to be phenomenal. Suburbia is really good, my main criticism is the lyrics. I feel like Soupy has gotten so used to writing literally that the lyrics in this album are his diary. Every song could go something like "Me and Mikey went to the diner, then I ordered grilled cheese and didn't tip the waitress, then we got gas at the exxon off of exit 4 on the turnpike, and then Jess said I forgot my iPod during the move and I let her keep it, and then the next day we played monopoly at Josh's house outside Philly, it rained." The lyrics could very well be word for word his diary entries. That may have sounded silly, but that's just how I feel. It's waaaaaay too literal. It's a good album, but not better than The Upsides IMO.

Hahaha, so true.
