captorofsin
I like Fear, love Danzig-era Misfits, hate bands like All That Remains, never heard of Jasta. What's the DAD definition of punk? I'd say those are two shitty releases by old punk bands and one shitty release by a shitty metal band. The dad definition of punk is anything aggressive. Like calling all that remains a punk band. fuck off, all that remains are a good band.

retrospectacle
Black Friday is racist. I mean, really, what's wrong with the rest of the week?
kriss
Black Friday: bringing out the best in people. Fairly sure this was meant sarcastically, but I genuinely believe it hits the nail on the head in terms of why I don't go out on the day. I love buying stuff so I can't rail against it from the whole 'Buy Nothing' standpoint, but I avoid going to any place of commerce just because the day brings out the crazy in people. Guest
Yeah, that's exactly what i meant. i can't believe the people who would do harm to someone else for a deal on a gift no one will care about in a few days.
cardiac
the sheer fact that EVERY year at least one person is trampled or beaten to death over a 'doorbuster' is reason enough to not think twice about boycotting this shit.

tattoomike
I, for one, am for sure going out on Black Friday - to the Social Distortion / Chuck Ragan show in town. Oh, and I'll be picking up the Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack on vinyl if it does indeed come out.

dreamover
"This is NOT Record Store Day Mach Deux, or RSD Jr, or anything like that. This is a terrific street date of great releases that can only be found at real live record stores. Yes, these pieces are limited, and indeed, some may sell out, and of course, the stores won’t all stock every piece." lol. Okay.... then what does that make record store day in april? tattoomike
Alas, no PJ 20 soundtrack. Guess the rumors were wrong. Will more than likely get the Beastie Boys and am intrigued by the Chris Cornell. Edit: Actually, I will definitely be getting that Chris Cornell if my local record store gets it. Released in 1968, The Golden Breed was hailed as a magnificent, gorgeous film that captured surfing at the height of its longboard era. But it came out on the wave of shortboard competition and was quickly lost to history. The soundtrack is just as evocative and vivid as the aquatic footage and now, sourced from the original Capitol analog tapes, it sounds better than ever. Strictly limited, and will soon be catching a big wave outta here. 1200 US, 800 international Yardbirds, The "Ha Ha Said The Clown" 090771723314 Sundazed $8.98 7" vinyl "Ha Ha Said the Clown"/"Tinker Tailor Soldier Dreamer" A 1967 US single that was never released in the UK. Forty years later, this release marks the first time they've ever appeared in their intended format. 1200 US, 1000 International Byrds, The "Eight Miles High" 090771723819 Sundazed $8.98 7" vinyl "Eight Miles High"/"Why" The versions of the classic Byrds tracks here were recorded at RCA Studios. The band's label, Columbia, wouldn't release them, so they were re-recorded at Columbia studios. These are the rare mono RCA Studios versions. 1200 US, 1000 International Lovin' Spoonful, The "Alley Oop" 090771723512 Sundazed $8.98 7" vinyl "Alley Oop b/w Night Owl Blues" This 'single that never was' brings together two tracks that came out of the petri dish that was The Albert Hotel in Greenwich Village, where The Lovin' Spoonful and The Paul Butterfield Blues Band traded licks, influences and ideas.
