blanchardoswald
My crayfish has been pregnant for about three weeks, and today she finally had her babies (or at least, today was the first day I noticed it). This is pretty cool for me, and it will be interesting to track their progress. Here they are tonight: blanchardoswald

Here they are tonight: this makes me uncomfortable because i was not aware how gelatinous crustaceans appear before growing a shell

blanchardoswald
I quite enjoy eating lobster and crab. How does crayfish compare? Should I raise these guys to be dinner one night?

blanchardoswald
Yeah they kinda do at this point. They will become electric blue though. They're probably about half a centimeter long right now
Scruffy...the janitor
This is awesome. I'm a total sucker for anything animal-related. I remember when my mollies had babies over and over and over again. It was pretty cool to see the few that weren't eaten grow to make more babies. blanchardoswald
I sold the mother last night, and I'm gunna keep two of these guys then give the rest to a pet store when they're bigger (prolly at least a month or two)

nicole
how big do these things grow? and do you have any fish with them?
fschoenleber10
You should probably raise them and make a stew.
blanchardoswald
how big do these things grow? and do you have any fish with them? They can get up to a foot long. At this size there away from my other fish because the fish will eat, but yeah they'll go in my big fish tank when they are big enough. They can kill the fish though eventually.
