icecream
Ugh I wonder if this has anything to do with not having a center label I know someone mentioned that can affect sound sometimes. It was unbearable to me and the only reason I continued to listen to this was to see if the rest of the record was like this. I think I might ask for a refund as well and i'm not paying a stupid fucking re-stocking fee either.
jerseydave77
Nope - this is a piece of shit in every way, shape and form. Total cash grab. The band and label should feel really shitty about it. Package is pathetic and it sounds like ass. This thing is simply taking up space on my shelf now. Let me know if you find a positive about this. Zick
I'll buy it for $8 ppd if you don't want it anymore
3arl
Maybe I'll just color the jacket and frame it
000000
Wow, kind of glad I didn't pick this up now. Also used to love these guys but it's just kind of gotten stale for me. Their most recent tour was a huge bore, but I loved the other four times I saw them.
jerseydave77
I'll buy it for $8 ppd if you don't want it anymore Honestly, I've been looking for a record to teach my 2-year old how to properly place a needle and pick it up. He's been asking to do it. I just found his LP-Training-Wheels. Folks can consider this record /1499 now. kirtah777
ripritchie
I'm almost finished with side A and this pressing sounds like shit I really hope this is just a random occurrence. I'm gonna clean the lp after this but there is a ton of surface noise and just really muddy sounding. edit: side B wasn't any better I agree. Side A sounds really crappy, and Side B was only ever so slightly better. (Maybe I was just more used to the shitty sound by then.) I even checked the needle because I thought their might be a fuzz ball on it. I like the packaging and a lot of the songs, but am disappointed. Why would they let something that sounds like this be pressed?
lexicondevil
Maybe they didn't master this for vinyl? After everything you guys have said, I'm not really looking forward to this arriving. On another note, If anyone has one of the die cut cover editions of Satanic Satanist check my tradelist or shoot me a price via pm.

atticus
this is a fucking joke. just listened for the first time. how could they sell something like that. I mean test pressings? Popping one of them on the old TT before shipping them? anything. I get the stripped down packaging and lack of center label, fits the stripped down arrangement. but shitty lightweight vinyl with sound that feels like it was mixed by a three year old? i mean it's not just a bad mix, shit distorts! there's maybe three instruments, how do you fuck things up that badly? has anyone ever dealt with merchnow/evr returns? is it worth it? andrewlucas
I'm super bummed now. :/ I have it waiting for me at home but now I'm not even excited. Not one person has said it sounded good.
icecream
I emailed merchnow and still nothing. it looks like ptm was tweeted so hopefully they'll look into it
jerseydave77
I wrote EVR to ask them if this was intentional. I've been buying EVR titles since 1993 when I picked up 108 "Holyname". This is easily the worst piece of EVR vinyl in my collection.

Zick
New drummer? They fired their drummer mid-performance back in March or something like that
3arl
They fired their drummer mid-performance back in March or something like that Just looked it up and apparently they fired a fill-in drummer mid show, but it's still weird that Jason seems to be not on the band anymore. atticus
Thanks to those who have been proactive. I guess I just like to bitch. Hopefully someone in this process will make things right.
skibby
they have a new drummer. weird that they never said anything about Jason leaving, but he's definitely not in it anymore
mcpherson123
Maybe he got sick of playing Beatles songs. Honestly the last three albums have been mostly uninteresting and uninspired. To me, anyway. Censored was their last great record.

JimmyBOD
Finally got to listen to this last night. To me it doesn't sound like just noise, it's more like distortion and noise. The vocals sound as if they're breaking up and you can also hear crackle during the quiet parts. Someone must have had the needles pinned the whole time. Unlistenable. Someone will have to make this right.

robinsoncano
The songs are demos, so that kind of tells me not to expect it to sound pristine, like a "Produced" record. Believe it or not, a no-white-label Etched pressing is more expensive to produce than a standard paper label.
