I still do pick up horror VHS, most of the thrift stores near me sell tapes for under a $1.00 . I randomly find decent stuff, recently The Stepfather 2 or Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2. Yeah, and I mean... I already have the DVD, so even if I never watch the actual VHS of it, it's just gonna be something really cool to have. Awesome about the Prom Night 2 find man. EDIT: Just clicked the link I posted and realized they bumped the price up from $18.89 to $25.63. Sooooo glad I grabbed it when it was at the lower price. Rip
So sad no one has posted in here for a while! Come on guys! Find out about anything new you're excited for?
SeeMoreGlass
I cannot wait for this fucking movie...with the exception of Halloween II which I am just counting as a creative misfire Zombie has turned out to be a pretty great director...too bad he can't give up music and start directing movies full time... Also, has anyone heard anything about Ti West's new flick The Sacrament? Rip
Rip
I can't wait for it either man. It's gonna be awesome. Hopefully it comes to theaters around here... And about the Ti West movie, I can't remember... is that the one produced by Eli Roth?
ronniegwilliams
Speaking of Ti West, I haven't really looked into anything prior to House of the Devil. I'm going to (not download because it's illegal, and immoral and wrong, and probably a sin, and Jesus hates sins) get ahold of Trigger Man, though I can't find it online (a site that isn't Pirate Bay, definitely not Pirate Bay doesn't have it) so this may prove a challenge. noalarmplanet

circuit bored records
I'm so bad at watching movies, I haven't watched anything decent in ages. Just the worst rom-com crap with my GF and all the oscar nominees since I want to be ready to kill it on this year's ballot. I'll definitely be sure to post here when I check out something decent. I did watch The Innkeepers a couple weeks ago at the recommendation of this thread and I thought it was pretty cool. I liked how non-traditional everything was and it always took turns to throw the viewer off. I read this awesome analysis on an IMDB post about how the nerdy guy with the glasses and the old lady who checks in are mother-son (a reference to Psycho) and they're plan is to 'give' the chick to the Inn. Unlikely, but cool nonetheless. Have to check out House of the Devil next since I haven't seen that one either.
Rip
Something to keep in mind on Valentines Day: http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3217429/exclusive-top-10-horror-movies-that-you-wouldnt-watch-with-your-girlfriend/ It's funny though because I've seen 3 of these with my girlfriend (Martyrs, Antichrist, and A Serbian Film) and she liked all of em. That's why I love her.

ronniegwilliams
Serbian Film was complete bullshit, just a shock film based on hype. I thought The Poughkeepsie Tapes was really well executed.
Rip
heard alot about the serbian film. only watched the trailer. I'd say it's worth watching at least once. If anything, just to say you have. It could be the most fucked up movie you've ever seen, or you could be completely bored by it. Definitely see it and make your own opinion though. Serbian Film was complete bullshit, just a shock film based on hype. I thought The Poughkeepsie Tapes was really well executed. You don't like the torture porn genre in general though right? Other people have definitely felt differently. Glad to hear you liked The Poughkeepsie Tapes though. I really do need to watch that again. ronniegwilliams
Antiviral, check it out. Though it falls under the umbrella of the horror "genre", it only does so because it would be hard to categorize it anywhere else. Really really interesting premise that mocks our obsession with celebrity.
ilikeguitars
Just watched V/H/S and it was pretty meh. The only sequence i enjoyed was the haunted house, loved seeing the hands come out of the walls and floor.

Were you able to download it somewhere because I've been wanting to see this for about a year and there is no news of a DVD release that I could find. Rip
Haha, when it comes to downloading things like movies and TV shows, I'm okay with that. Especially movies because sometimes, for one reason or another, the US doesn't get DVD releases of certain films, so there'd be no other way to see them besides downloading them! All The Boys Love Many Lane is a good example of this. Why this hasn't seen a US release is completely beyond me. It's such a good and fun film. I mean seriously? It's the same director who did 50/50, Warm Bodies, and The Wackness.
mikeian
Any love for [rec] on here? I haven't been watching much lately, but Tucker & Dale vs Evil was great, as well as Stake Land.
circuit bored records
Tucker and Dale rules so goddamn hard. I have to give it another watch soon. I couldn't really get into antiviral, just way too off in the sci-fi realm for me to enjoy it. Too many plot holes and unnecessary slow motion shots, and not enough sympathy for any characters in the film. I turned it off with about 20 minutes left and couldn't have cared less how it ended. I absolutely love the [REC] films. Wasn't too big a fan of the third one though. Hopefully the fourth (and final one) is awesome. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is one of my favorites too. Still need to see Stake Land though. I've heard great things.
