mameeshkamowskwoz
Interesting as track 10 was played by Tomahawk live on their first tour while Rutmanis was the bassist.

mameeshkamowskwoz
The Melvins return with a 13-track covers album titled "Everybody LovesSausages," which is set for an Apr. 30 release via Ipecac Recordings."This record will give people a peak into the kind of things thatinfluence us musically," explains Buzz Osborne. "We REALLY like all ofthese songs along with the bands who actually wrote this stuff becausefirst and foremost we are HUGE music fans."In a decidedly Melvins approach to a covers album, the band not onlyselected a unique assortment of songs to cover, ranging from RoxyMusic's "In Every Dream Home A Heartache" to Queen's "Best Friend," theyalso enlisted several friends to take part including Mudhoney's MarkArm joining them for The Scientists' "Set It On Fire" and Neurosis'Scott Kelly pitching in on a cover of Venom's "Warhead."While the release is billed as a proper Melvins' album (featuring theline-up of Osborne, Dale Crover, Jared Warren and Coady Willis), thereare a handful of songs recorded as the Melvins Lite incarnation of theband (Osborne, Crover and Trevor Dunn): "Female Trouble" (Divine a.k.a.John Waters), "Timothy Leary Lives" (Pop-O-Pies) and "Romance By Talesof Terror" (Tales of Terror). jhulud
Ipecac will put out two to three colors. Not say what they are until stores and distros have them and never release pressing info.
nothingnatural
Can't wait. Will be buying for sure. Ipecac will put out two to three colors. Not say what they are until stores and distros have them and never release pressing info. I have no problems with this and I like that they do things like that. Edit - This will be worth it just for the 'Tales of Terror' cover alone.
mameeshkamowskwoz
I want to pre-emptively apologize if this is a cd only release, but I'm pretty sure that is not going to happen.

pamfletty
Isn't Black Betty a Leadbelly song?
rocknroll76
Yeah that's right...Crybaby was a covers album. I thought this sounded familiar.
jhulud
Isn't Black Betty a Leadbelly song? From what I've been reading, no one knows who really wrote it, but Leadbelly was the first to record it and get it out there.
mameeshkamowskwoz
Per Ipecac's Facebook:A new Melvins record packed with specialguests, the Mark Lanegan/Duke Garwood record, the debut release fromPalms and more Tomahawk shows....the next few months are going to beGREAT! I think the use of "record" makes it a little more clear that it will be on vinyl... right?!?!
